I usually don't read AUs. It had me glued loved it

Where do I even begin.
I have read many B&B renditions for different fandoms but this curse was particularly creative and incredibly fitting. For one with views like Sesshoumaru's, this truly is one of the worst-case scenarios.

I loved how even after all these years, his views did not once changed. This was shown quite spectacularly in the scene with Rin when he was telling her what he would do for his freedom. Just because he met a human being he could finally tolerate does not mean the belief he maintained for centuries would suddenly be dismantled and you had acknowledged that. Compounded upon that, he's been waiting for this moment for oh-so long. Something he thought he would never achieve and now it suddenly appears before him; this life is practically a parasite that feeds on his pride - of course he would take any opportunity to remove it. I also like how you let Rin see this side of him, to miss out on this significant aspect of his character would be greatly remiss of her and for their relationship.

For the most part, you kept the two IC. There were a few moments where there was some slight OOC-ness (such as when Sesshoumaru outright said the "safety" word in front of Jaken's face - that may be his intent but he would never say it to his servant's face, much less in his own thoughts) but these moments were very, very few and far in between. You didn't rush the romance, the humor was well timed, and you covered any loophole that could have came up with this curse (such as talking about how Sesshoumaru could have just stayed in the sky until the mob went away but why he didn't bother doing that).

There is one thing I wondered about though. How did Naraku come back from the dead (or maybe I shouldn't ask that since that man doesn't really stay dead)? I thought Sesshoumaru had defeated him in the beginning of this story? Honestly, I was anticipating the moment that Naraku would take over Hayate's body as a way to recover from his injuries but surprisingly they ended up having two very different roles.

As a whole, the story was great and a joy to read. I practically heard Sesshoumaru and Jaken's interactions in my head; I really didn't know how you'd pull off the snowball fight with someone like Sesshoumaru in the mix but you did and it worked. I think Naraku's role could have been better integrated in the story; he felt more like a plot device served to catalyze the next part of Hayate's plan than an actual part of the narration and that may be because you were trying to balance two antagonists here but with more focus on Hayate. Either way, it's fascinating to see a writer's process: how this beast of a story unfolded around this picturesque ending here (and yes, that was a pun).

This story was beautiful. I loved how you kept the Beauty and the Beast, but didn’t make it completely the same. I hate it when people write a Beauty and the Beast fic and use the exact same words and scenes as in the movies. You didn’t do any of that. Very well written. A few typos, but nothing major.
