The grammar could be better but that's a small drop in the tidal wave of an actually WICKED! start to a story. It's engaging, interesting and clear in the telling.

So what happened to taking the kids and going to Derek? That whole thing got derailed without an actual reason why. They made plans and then they just didn't... And why the heck would you trust your kids with someone who is the most obvious potential choice for traitor? Even if you don't think they are, that's pretty stupid. The last few chapters have been a bit questionable on the logic front.
