If the others never came back, their disapperance would have been all over the news eventually. So even if Eric doesn't know their last names, he could easily search for any (local) newspapers of the time to see if there's a story in it about a group of kids/teens gone missing at an amusementpark. If he finds none, he can safely assume they came back.

Very good story! I wonder if maybe Eric would get another chance upon his death in the mortal world to go back to the Dungeons and Dragons world. Anything is possible with magic after all. :)
