This chapter makes me feel so sad for Dot, but at least Hopper doesn't intend to hurt her worse. I wish Dot knew what had happened with the wing tear, and how Hopper had regretted it and tried to help at least. But all her anger at Hopper is justified for what he did, so I definitely don't blame her for that. It does make me wonder if he would feel remorse for what he'd done to the rest of the ants, especially Flik. At least for Dot it seems he really is starting to be truly sorry. It would be interesting to see him try to make amends.

Okay, sorry for the late review (I've been sick) but I'm so glad to read another chapter of this story!

Also, about the 'non-accurate' insect anatomy, I don't think you should worry about that. As you said, these are anthropomorphic characters in a fictional movie. They even have blood that is shown to be red (from the part of the movie with the bugs pretending to be attacked by the bird by putting berry juice on themselves) so I think you're fine. What you've written works well with the A Bug's Life universe in my opinion!

Reading this, I was still really anxious for what would happen to Dot (and SO RELIEVED that the damage to her wings isn't permanent). It seems like everything is going wrong for everyone right now, with the bird being at the wrong place.

Even though things turned out differently, I still really admire Flik for being willing to put himself in Dot's place to save her. That's absolutely something he would do! And speaking of bravery, I also really admire Dot for how brave she's been, and I hope she still has the strength to be, since now she was harmed even more than the others.

And I'm glad Hopper is trying to help. As much as he hates the ants, I'm glad he doesn't hold as much anger to her specifically, and can see on some level that what he's doing is wrong. I really hope Dot ends up being okay; I'm still really worried for her!

I really hope you continue to write ABL fanfics after you finish Leave Her Alone. Seriously, this fandom is so dead and we really need quality stories like yours!

I really hope that pain Dot felt wasn't as bad as it sounded. D: It would be horrible for her to lose her wings, especially so soon after learning to fly.
