Guest chapter 6 . 4/21 I like this AU with a more mature Elizabeth! It's a very realistic sequence of events, getting rid of Wickham early and becoming engaged in Kent. My only complaint about this story is how much of Austen's writing is shoehorned in, when your original bits are perfectly good and match her style well. It makes the story a little... boring, for lack of a better word. There's little that's fresh and nothing that's exciting, so I'm satisfied with the story but not likely to reread it. Thanks for sharing your take with us. |

Levenez chapter 6 . 4/15/2019 Nice story, with small differences to canon. |
Sheila L. M chapter 6 . 2/16/2019 Well done. I do recognize the use of much of Jane Austen's words but the changes in Elizabeth's approach made for a lovely variation. |
Sheila L. M chapter 5 . 2/16/2019 I am enjoying this story. Everything is going well and Darcy has certainly made steps to improve in his behavior in society and with Elizabeth's family. Thanks for this chapter. Just waiting for Elizabeth to say that she now loves William. |
Sheila L. M chapter 4 . 2/16/2019 Lovely - I applaud this development of both their characters. Thank you for this chapter. |
Sheila L. M chapter 3 . 2/15/2019 This should be interesting...different from canon in that she is expecting a proposal and now with the advice both her aunt and Charlotte have given her...will she still turn him down or will she ask for more time to get to know him or even point out certain characteristics which she would like him to change, i.e., learning to carry on a conversation with strangers. Thanks for this chapter. |
Sheila L. M chapter 2 . 2/15/2019 I do like Aunt Gardiner and her advice to Elizabeth. So the strong objections which were in canon as to why Elizabeth said "no" to Darcy's proposal are basically gone...except for the disdain he displayed. So now will he act the same or differently as she responds differently in Kent. Thanks for this chapter. |
Sheila L. M chapter 1 . 2/15/2019 Thank you for this chapter. I can see where Elizabeth is pondering this more deeply than in canon and as waiting to see how she works it out. |
