Reviews for Shadow Kiss: Dimitri's Point of View
SmurfStina91 chapter 27 . 9/16
You’re brilliant. i love this so much. Reading your versions next to the actual series is amazing
Elis5 chapter 25 . 6/29
Hey) it’s probably been a while since you’ve read a comment on this story and I know I’m kind of 5 years late , but I’ve just recently found out about this site and started to catch up with amazing stories here) I have been a big VA fan for a couple of years but again what better time then quarantine to reread your favorite stories once more;)
I just want to go straight there and say that I’m in LOVE with your stories of DPOV, I’ve read first 3 in 3 days and wanted to leave review after I read them all, but I feel like I just need to pause and take a breath on this sweet note before jumping into the dark, which I’m both dreading and interested in...
I just want to say a huge thank you for writing this, for capturing every moment so emotionally, full heartedly and well written! I truly think that I understand Dimitri more and I’m sooo interested also to have seen all the major key point moments from his perspective. He is so human and still a god))) he is so loving and passionate, and I can understand more now his motives for some of his decisions and actions because your description really matches the whole VA world that Rachel Mead created! Thank you)))
And can I just say special thanks for the cabin scene) awww, I loved it, it was so perfect! Every word and every touch... my heart melted) I also really loved their experience field battle, is was one of my favorite scenes in this book and I was excited to read it from DPOV...
also, I don’t know how often do you write now or come back to these stories but I would really like read some more of your stories maybe as a continuation of the story after the Last sacrifice))) it’s just you’ve mentioned how Dimitri would like to go with Rose on a proper date, or show her some Russian cuisine at the Court or spend her birthday together ( maybe no 18 since it is impossible but 19 or 20 in the future)It broke my heart knowing that he had planned something and they had finally a bit of hope before it was brutally cut down((( I like your writing style a lot a would hope to read more of their happy life together after all the event in the books)
Again, thank you very much and I will see you whenever I need next little break from diving into your stories) all the love to an amazing author!
ginabowman2005 chapter 18 . 7/20/2019
Yuri...such a good guy in your story.
ginabowman2005 chapter 7 . 7/20/2019
I always thought someone would have said something about Rose kicking Stan's butt, him attacking her and her not taking advantage of the free opportunity. They would have made the comment between guardians.
raybro chapter 6 . 6/25/2019
Reading the VA books, i was always so curious as to why Dimitri didn’t like being called “Comrade” by Rose. Your explanation, essentially that he liked it too much and would give into her, was better than anything I ever could have imagined. A million thanks to this small question I didn’t know I needed answered 3
Dinisha chapter 22 . 1/14/2019
Hey. I am a huge fan of your work and your writing transports me to the book itself. Sadly I am a little disappointed with this chapter. It's good but not as grand as I hoped it would be. I felt like it lacked the intensity and feeling that you brought to your previous chapters and scenes. I liked the fact that you kept the scene respectable but I felt it lacked emotion.

I do love your fanfics and please don't think I dislike your work because you are truly a star
touls chapter 27 . 9/10/2018
It's been a while since I read this and so some silly reason forgot to follow it and missed out on all the updates. Loved it so much that I feel like reading VA again to get both perspectives. Loved the interactions between Dimitri and the other guardians. They way you explained and described the 'blood lust' was excellent. Felt for poor Yuri, but he knew it wasn't Dimitri's fault. Started next book, Blood Promise. I'm sure it won't disapppoint.
MissBelikova127 chapter 27 . 9/3/2018
I know I'm late to the party but I have absolutely loved everything you have posted from Dimitri's point of view. I absolutely cannot wait to keep reading your stories on here.
Luise chapter 23 . 6/19/2018
Again, a really good chapter. I‘ve brrn addicted to your stories for over a week now. I‘ve never really read fanfiction before but yours is great!
Luise chapter 22 . 6/19/2018
Wow this was intense! You did an amazing job with this chapter. I hadto finish reading it in my office because I wasn‘t able to focus on work before. Now I habe to continue with Rose‘s perspective so that I can later re-read Dinitri‘s point of view. I‘ve probably read the VA books 10 times by now. Your fanfic stories complement it really well! I am curious to see how you covered the next two books.
VioletQueenMarie chapter 27 . 5/10/2018
I absolutely love this! Dimitri's thoughts and feelings about Rose spiraling into darkness are so raw and heartbreaking. His worry, helplessness, and fear is depicted well. It really emphasizes how much he's come to love and care about her, since Frostbite. I also like how you use his perspective to discuss more of the PTSD and suicidal thoughts/behaviors guardians can get from being out in battle and losing their loved ones/colleagues. I wished RM put more attention to that in the book, since it would've humanized their vampiric society more and highlighted how that issue needs to be addressed in real life. Thank you for doing this! :)

I also love how you build his relationships with the other guardians. Dimitri having that talk with Stan about how he treats Rose is so needed. In the books, Rose disliked Stan so much that it was hard for me to tell if he really was an asshole or actually had reasons for why he treated her like he did. The interaction you make between Dimitri and Stan, I believe, is more accurate of Stan's viewpoint of Rose. Most teachers truly do care about their students and want the best for them. And there's different ways of expressing that. Sure, Stan's methods can be harsh, but he has good intentions and that's what matters. I also love how you have Dimitri confiding in Yuri about how to handle his love for Rose. When I read the books, there was a part of me that always felt like Dimitri wasn't alone. That someone around him went through something similar. That it was more common than what RM made it seem. I'm so glad that you touched upon this! It gives me some closure on that aspect, and it also makes more sense.

The scenes you create that take place in between Frostbite and Shadow Kiss are also much needed. I'm so happy you put that in. I wanted RM to include those details of how Rose was trying to cope with Mason's death and how it was affecting everyone else, in that interim. What you have in the first couple or few chapters really bridges that gap. I don't have to speculate as much, so thank you again!

And the card reading scene! Oh my God! When I read the book, I was trying to figure out what Dimitri was going to lose, after that interaction with Rhonda. I knew it wasn't going to be Rose, but I couldn't think of anything else. Then the Strigoi attack happened and he got turned, and I was just like, "Damn, this is what it was. My precious Dimka lost his soul. He's Strigoi now. This changes everything." I didn't cry when Rose found that out from Mason, though, compared to others. I typically don't cry when I'm reading or watching something. But it still hurt, and reading it all again from DPOV brings all those memories back. However, the hurt is intensified because he's so hopeful that he'll get to be with Rose and have a future with her, throughout the story. It's heartwrenching to see him believe that everything will be okay and he'll get what he wants. Excellent job with stirring up those emotions!

And the cabin scene is also well-crafted. I love that you have a balance between the actual sex and how they're feeling during, before, and after. The whole experience is more real and exciting this way, and I think the descriptions are great. It is graphic but not overly graphic, so nicely done there. I almost feel like I'm in the cabin with them, lol!

And last but not least, Dimitri's turning at the end. I love how you depict it as him being born again. He's sensing and processing everything for the first time, as an undead creature, and it really feels like he's encountering a new world and living a new life. Him draining Yuri is also brilliantly done. It's interesting seeing that conflict between who he was and who he has become. That fully embodying Strigoi nature isn't instantaneous and is a gradual process. This is even better than Frostbite: DPOV. Keep on outdoing yourself! :)

I didn't review Blood Promise: DPOV when I'd read it, so I'm going to do that right now.
Ana chapter 27 . 3/15/2018
I'm loving your writings!
Merra Dawson chapter 7 . 2/15/2018

VAvixin69 chapter 27 . 1/23/2018
so amazing! I'm glad yuri forgave him tho that will help later on. you are so amazing at writing these in Dimitri’s pov!
best book to movie I would have to say is lord of the rings for me he kept to the books as much as possible and it was amazing!
the hobbit, the chronicles of Narnia and a ton of others would be the worst including twilight. most book to movies I just don't like mostly because they stray so far from the perfection of the book itself.
VAvixin69 chapter 26 . 1/23/2018
Greek or Russian for me. and wow this chapter you did so amazing on it! not gonna lie it took me a while to read bc everytime I go over this chapter no matter who's pov it's in I want it to go differently lol.
