Reviews for Robb Stark, A Wolf King
JustBecause717 chapter 40 . 6/28
I'd be lying if I said I went looking for this story or the one before it. The Robb and Margaery relationship was not something I had true interest in, and I barely even considered the possibility. But then I scrolled through a number of titles and found this. I read the concept and thought to myself, "why not?" It certainly fits in with my belief that fanfiction, in its purest form, is a solution to the 'what ifs' of the worlds of literature and media. And the GoT universe is certainly full of them. Robb and Margaery immediately being taken with one another existing as just one of them. And so I began reading. It was … alright at first. I enjoyed reading the first couple chapters, and they seemed to follow how I believed the characters would act. So I kept reading. I saw steady improvement, with more realistic plot lines and better writing technique gradually appearing chapter by chapter. I began to enjoy reading so much that I finished the first of the two in the series in one sitting. Unfortunately, I fell asleep only a couple chapters into the second part. The next day, I was back to reading within an hour of rising. I digested chapter after chapter, thoroughly invested and greatly enjoying every twist and turn. As I began to approach the fortieth chapter, I wondered if you planned to make a third part, separating the coming battle against the Night's King as you had separated Robb ascending to and later ruling from the Iron Throne. I slowly began to see the elements of the Long Night creep into the later chapters, and a feeling of dread steadily grew within me. I knew seeing the last update in May of last year was never a good sign. And my fears were realized with the content of the last two chapters. There was no conclusion, no end to this masterful rethinking of the GoT universe. No tales of how Robb led the living against and the dead and prevailed or failed, nor stories of the Stark dynasty collapsing or prospering. No recollections of what the Hound has been doing (don't think you can just stick him in Sansa's guard and leave it at that), nor Bronn and his whereabouts. No relief over the recovery of Arya or grief at her untimely demise, nor second hand embarrassment at Jon seeing Ygritte at the wall and having to introduce her to Arianne. No feelings of happiness at the birth of the third Stark babe, nor release of unknown held breath at the true intentions of the massive coalition of the powers of Essos. I think you understand what I'm getting at. I truly hope you come back to this and prove this review to be outdated and unnecessary. I hope you come back and give us an end to this beautiful work of art, satisfying or not. Because it deserves one. Something so painstakingly crafted and intricate warrants at least that. The four years you have invested into this give me hope for a future conclusion, one that I eagerly await.

First off I want to say I loved everything about this story. It's what I envisioned in my head watching the early seasons of GOT. Naively thinking Robb would become King.

I read through all these chapters faster than I read any of the ASOIAF books. Absolutely amazing stuff. But I'm so sad to see the story isn't finished. I really hope you come back and finish this epic tale soon.

Damn you’re developing the characters so well. Looking back on the first chapters of the first book, you’ve progressed a lot. Your writing was always good but I feel like you’ve brought more to your skills and it’s great to read
TheWateringWizard chapter 28 . 4/30
Bean and Daenerys ?! I was not expecting that ! Maybe it won’t happen at all but it’s still very surprising to be hinted at. Can’t wait for their team up now
