Wow! This has got to be one of the best AU’s I have read! Wow! I started reading this a while ago but was a little thrown back with Rick’s character. So I stopped and kept this story in the back burner. I finally squared my shoulders and just dove in... and I haven’t stopped reading. Now I wish it didn’t end. This had so much twists and turns, the characters where well-written (and yes... even Rick.. especially Rick). What a ride this has been. And the last chapter... Classic! I hope you can find a way to continue this story. Thank you for this!

I really want to see how rick crawls out from under that thick wall of pain to try to connect with Michonne. So far, he's doing it all wrong but I think that Michonne will find out that he can be reasoned with.

I feel so bad for Michonne. She's sacrificed so much to keep Andre safe. It's just not fair that she's had to endure all of the shit from Mike in the process. First, he's angry that she's gone all of the time and now all of his antics have really backfired, because not only does she have to leave, but she has to marry another man. Dude...that was your fault! Instead of behaving like some petulant child having a tantrum, be should've been kind, supportive and loving as a partner should be. In the zombie apocalypse, you don't have the luxury of wasting time. Additionally, he should've stepped up to help her if he was feeling some kind of way. But he didn't. He just sat back and complained and moaned like some useless lump. How pathetic!
I knew that Rick would become extremely amenable to the marriage arrangement when he saw Michonne in action. He know from her fighting capability that she wasn't some random civilian that they were trying to pawn off on him. After the Saviors made their entrance and tried to kill them, I know that the deal was sealed. I know that it's for the best right now, but my heart aches for Michonne. Good chapter.

Okay, so this first chapter has me really intrigued. Rick taking women into his bed, killing people that don't agree with him or exiling them? Wow, Rick is really off the rails. And, poor Michonne is having to deal with a rejected Mike, who's using their son Andre against her by not letting her see him. Then, she's ambushed by Matthew offering her as part of a peace treaty? I mean WTF?! I totally here for it because I have to know how this is going to play out.

There are very few stories where I actually Hate Carl as a character, but this one brought me those negative feelings! Thanks for that. Carl is no better than Negan, like stated earlier he is on his way to usurp Negan's reign/personality.

It's disappointing Carl is blinded by his anger that he keeps referring to Michonne as "that woman" and if it wasn't for the fact that this story is fiction, I would torture and then kill Carl as he's a selfish young teenager? Who care only for his own motivations. He may have saved Lydia from getting raped that probably only because he likes her. Did he try to help anyone else? NO! What did he think would occur injuring 2 guards protecting the entrances of Alexandria if he was actually interested in living there? He weakened the defenses by the home he knows and there is absolutely no remorse coming from him as of yet. Neither from Lori, they just want what they want and that way of thinking isn't community or survival based upon cooperation its just self serving bullshit. Carl is still the epitome of a privileged entitled child even after the ZA. I hate him I hate him I hate him.

How's that for negativity! It should match well with the story.

Yes, I'm used to this writer pushing boundaries with my beloved character, and I often have to spread out my reading of this author, the bae tide, cake by the pound and a few wonderful others who are completely comfortable fucking up Michonne's hard earned slivers of happiness.

With that being said this story is a roller-coaster ride filled with anger, angst, cruelty, distrust, violence, narcissism and occasional slivers of compassion and love. It can be a hard read as there's way more negativity in the world created than positivity. Its the author's own personal choice and of course when there's a story about war, dictators and death as the main plot it takes imagination to not go to the tried and true plot developers to construct a story. How can Michonne be tolerant of Rick's bullshit, pushed and thrown under the bus by whomever is created in this story like Carl, Lori, Mike, Negan, Ron and basically everyone else. All the while Michonne just takes it. There's great character development for Michonne, but her strength really doesn't shine through other than the traditional server of male needs. It's clear the perspectives are embedded in male dominant thinking even if it's from a female voice.

I guess I need to find a black woman feminist who can write Michonne in a way that isn't stereotypical female server. It's just apparent that even though women of color or considered free thinkers there are many who aren't constructing thoughts and words to convey it.

Carl may have a goal, but he absolutely did not lay out a plan. Carl's is an early teenager and angry because of what he's lost. So what, so many other children/teenagers have loss and grief and Carl can't really monopolize it. He's a fucking brat! No insight other than what is obvious. It's interesting how the two are getting confused. Carl basically fucked up Scott and Spencer like toilet paper and Rick is A-OK with that because he has his precious wife and son back conveniently forgetting Carl would sell anyone down the line to get what he wants which is exactly what Negan is doing. As stated earlier from Negan's own mouth.

I can also seem some strong correlation between the U.S. president and Negan.

I love how you write Rick and Michonne - so in character! My only gripe is Rick's sexual exploits. I feel like you could've written a top knotch fic without him being an overt sexual demon because those moments feel way out of character. You're such a great writer, and I believe you can keep Rick's wit and sexy vibes without him needing to "conquer" any woman he meets. His sexiness can come from his unattainability.

Everything else was great - his flirting, his stance, his speech and looks and the feel you give him.

Michonne was spot on. Spot on, spot on, spot on! Perfectly written. I love how you manage to keep her personality so balanced with humour and concern. I imagine every facial expression and thought with such ease.

I really, really, really enjoyed this fic so far (around ch 10) and hope you write more Richone - in TWD Universe? Pleaaaaase, you're so on point a majority of the time, I honestly could see it like a film and I crave more when I have to stop (why do we need to do superfluous things like shower and sleep?)

Just read all 29 chapters in one sitting - guess you can say I really liked it!

This was a fun read! As other reviewers have said, Rick acted very much like Negan at the beginning of this story. We've seen Rick act ruthlessly, but some of his actions in this story were startlingly OOC. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this story! I liked the love triangle, or rather the love pentagon the was Michonne, Rick, Mike, Lori, and Negan. Andre was my favorite character. You did a great job depicting his sweet, innocent nature. I wish we could have seen Michonne and Carl's relationship blossom at the end, but it seems like their future is bright.

I wasn’t ready for it to end. :(

Rick is so incredibly ooc in this fic, i can't take it seriously at all. Why not just write a Negan/Michonne fic instead of making Rick an unidentifiable rapist smh. Both Rick and Michonne deserve better than this garbage characterization. My search for a good arranged marriage Richonne fic continues.
