This was fantastic! I'm always trying to find good fanfics about Harry's life before Hogwarts, but, like you said, most of them are AU or end in Harry getting rescued. What I've really been wanting was one like this, where it's just like a missing scene from the books, and everyone is in character! You are a great writer, and your descriptions of young Harry brought tears to my eyes! :) Keep up the good work!

What a refreshing fic! I very much enjoyed reading this. I think you accomplished just what you wanted with the characters and missing moments. You kind of always wonder a little how Harry was able to turn out so kind hearted (ignoring his understandable and occasional temper) with his family's influence in his youth.
