Wow, this is surprisingly really good!

I really wanted to like this story, the writing is a lot better than most fanfics I have read, it started off really interesting but then it was just depressing, followed by more depressing.

I'm sorry, obviously a story can't be all lightness and happiness the same as it can't be all dark and angsty without being too much.

I’ve read this story a handful of times throughout the past couple years. Whenever things were looking rough I’d come back to reread it. It actually helped me transition after coming home from a combat deployment myself. So, I just wanted to say thank you for writing this.

I'm sorry, but that's just no fucking okay. Chloe ABUSED Max, pummeled her face, dislocated her jaw, for no good fucking reason

The things that Chloe "blamed" Max for doing, Max did because they were the best reasonable choice under the circumstances. And I would likely have lost my shit with Nathan too- he was trying to kill both of them and badly wounded them both, and Max was trying to help Chloe

I get Chloe reining in Max during the fight with Nathan- that was a good thing. And when Chloe abandoned an anguished, screaming Max on the hill- real dick move, Chloe- but I get Chloe wanting to be alone after the Nathan fight. She just should have let Max down easier, reassured her she just wanted some time alone.

And I get Chloe wanting to vent all the frustrations and angst of all these years- to shout, to argue. I even get maybe wanting to slap Max (still a dick move, and the very thing that got David in trouble) But that doesn't give her a free pass to fucking physically abuse Max like that! That's way over the line!

David gets in trouble for slapping Chloe. Then Chloe turns around the pummels the crap out of Max's face. If a family member did to me even a fraction of what Chloe did to Max here, they'd be MAJOR hell to pay

I wish Chloe had been guilty about this for a little bit longer, or that Max was afraid of Chloe for a while longer, but the ramifications of this fight are relatively short-lived compared to the other angsty and argumentative moments in this story

A warning of mentions of suicide would’ve been nice lol. I’m not allowed to see anything with suicide in it xd. I was given this rule after I played Life is Strange. But anyway, great reading so far, I haven’t really seen any LiS Fandom fics like this one before.
