This story is almost a case study on growing up. It's really good!

I have never cried so much in my life before.
And I mean UGLY crying.
I'm so glad I decided to revisit this fandom and found this fic, because you're doing a stellar job of the ol' OcXCanon trope. Hana is really fleshed out and believable, which is refreshing, and your pacing progresses really well throughout the thirty-eight chapters already there. The plot doesn't feel drawn out, erratic, or stagnant because you've kept proceedings moving forward so well.

Yay! Finally caught up! Can't wait for the next chapter :) Although I'm wondering how you're going to end it...

Aw, this was probably one of my favorite conversations around "I don't deserve you blah blah blah" (such self-denial guilt always annoys me haha). I really like Hana as a character! She's definitely not a brat. However, I don't think she's quite as mature as is sometimes implied. I think a REALLY mature person would be able to see their own inherent value, wouldn't be so scared of "dependency," and would try to clearly communicate expectations/goals at a good time for all parties (as in, her parents). I'm reminded of the extra episode in the manga where that girl in Spain keeps running away from omiais. Kyouya tells her that her parents will never respect her until she sits down and has an adult conversation about what she wants. I don't really see this being possible with Hana's dad... but Hana has never tried to sit down with her mom and talk openly. She just gets upset and kinda nasty when her mom is (admittedly) annoying and shallow. I wish we could see some growth in her acceptance of herself and her family!

I loved The Vow, and Mori has always been my second favorite host, so I decided to give Shine a shot! I think it's even more addictive than The Vow! Things are happening more slowly, and I think your writing is a little less clear and more rambling, but this chapter was amazing. Can't wait to catch up to your updates!

Poor girl. I love her grandfather. No matter what, he IS her grandfather. He chose her and loved her.

The glacial pace works (plus, I don’t think it’s that glacial). I’m enjoying watching the characters come to life. I both understand and don’t understand why grandparents would want their grandchildren to beat the snot out of each other, but I’m Western and have little experience with Eastern culture, beyond what I’ve seen on TV. Hopefully, it will work out. (Well, I’m sure it will, since it’s who the story is about. Ha.)

Oh gods, the ending of that chapter had me in tears, had to redo my review five times x3. Update soon!
