I don't know how I missed this story, it is perfect!

I can see Hiccup moving around, being so gently cared for by his family. I did enjoy the unique opportunity to hear Hiccup's thoughts and feelings separated from Toothless and Cloudjumper's ongoing loss for someone that he will never forget and Hiccup can't remember. Toothless's return was perfect, I enjoyed that there was no explanations just joy at them finding each other.

I have said it before, you have an amazing skill in writing true depth of feeling and emotion. Fantastic!

God you're perfect. Your style of writing for this and Nightfall has made me fall in love and Jesus did I fall hard. I absolutely adored the way you incorporated new dragons of the flock in and made them seem so natural and the introduction so seamless. And Cloudjumper thinking about Valka... Honestly. My heart can only take so much! I suppose I should have a point to this, so I guess the point is thank you. Thank you for being such an amazing writer and weaver of words and images and thank you for gifting us with another little glimpse into the fascinating world you created with Nightfall.

HOLY HELL YES I LOVE IT I remember reading this and going absolutely nuts. It is such a pleasure to see you still writing in this universe.

you have no idea how happy I was to wake up and see the alert for this sitting in my inbox today :DD I love the way you write the dragons' language and especially hiccup's thoughts; it's so visceral and straightforward, but with enough... lightness, I suppose, something almost like whimsy but not quite, that shows he still has a spark of humanity underneath that fierce dragony exterior, of the imagination that separates him from the dragons and yet allows him to be practically dragon himself.
