I absolutely love where this is heading
It's such an interesting idea to explore; being reborn not only in a fictional world but as the opposite gender and reading about how the world steadily changes to accommodate a new person is fascinating!

Personally, pairing wise, it all depends on how hania views him/herself and whether he accepts the change fully or not and if his sexuality is the same as before (whatever it may have been)
But for some reason I can totally see hania and yue together
I think hania being a waterbender could open up so any story lines, for example how he develops it and if he keeps it a secret to protect the village, and how he trains in the North Pole

I don't know I just see so much potential in this
I hope this isn't abandoned I really would love to see more! ;)
