I personally think Merlin’s grandfather should have been given a different surname. Maybe Ambrosius. Emrys is Merlin’s Druid title. I’ve never thought of it as his surname, only in modern AUs.

God Arthur is an ass. I can’t think of someone more worthy of being a king than Emrys. But of course Arthur doesn’t know that he’s not just a bumbling idiot.

This is such a lovely story. I sincerely hope you can come back to it at some point.
