Anyway! This is wonderfully written! I think you captured the melancholy feelings of the film really well, and wanted to commend you on that! Starting off with a little poem? Amazing! The detached style, which almost mirrors Takao's own detached personality, and the almost fervent longing for something to cling to and believe in, is both realistic and heart wrenching in a way that's so very similar to the film itself.

I read this right after I found the Garden of Words, and I have to say that I wouldn't mind this be an actual sequel to the film. Like another reviewer said, this short (yet nicely well-written) story captures the film's emotional longing and atmosphere. Granted, there are VERY MINOR nitpicks (like some additional spaces and some misspellings), but I was surprised that this story gave me the same emotions that I felt at the end of the film.

Overall, very sweet, well-written, and emotionally befitting for the 'Garden of Words.' Thank you for writing this.

What a wonderful one shot. I really enjoyed this as a reflection of Takao's thoughts and also as a glimpse into the future. Those last two lines pulled at the heartstrings, "Forgive me, Sensei. I think I still love you." Oh, god, I could cry buckets!
