ordinarygamerz2468 chapter 2 . 3/21
Please update. This is really good.
Kayen1024 chapter 2 . 2/25
This was a great chapter. I am glad I got to see why Illya left. I am also curious how this Shirou will be impacted by Sakura's death. However, what I really wish is that to see your take on the aftermath and how everyone who knew Shirou reacted. Like someone from the TSAB is going to have tell Taiga right? Regardless I would like to see their reactions.
Kayen1024 chapter 1 . 2/25
This was a great story. It really showed everyone being in character. Some people might think Shirou was behaving like a Mary Sue but that's because it feels like Nanoha and the rest are to blame. However, that is not true in the slightest, Nanoha and the rest do not have a responsibility to understand why Shirou wants to be a hero so badly and why he's so recklessly driven to do so. Considering how weak and reckless he was it makes sense they would try to leave him behind. His well intended actions tend to put him on a hospital bed or worse. The reason why Nanoha feels guilty is because after spending years apart and learning how big and dangerous the universe is, she and the rest didn't see Shirou with his limited capabilities as anything more than a fool in over his head. He would definitely put himself in danger to help others but his actual skills on paper are really not that impressive. Considering how powerful and dangerous Noble Phantasms and UBW are it makes sense Shirou would never tell anyone. Even the TSAB would be concerned by Shirou's abilities and his mental state considering the requirements to possessing a reality marble. So Shirou not telling anyone, including his friends who he wouldn't want to get wrapped up in his problems and in trouble for his sake makes sense. Shirou Emiya is selfless to an infuriatingly stupid degree like that.
Also considering the fact that they went on several adventures without him, where they fougth life and death battles, their realtionships between each other would have changed and grown without Shirou. They say that when you figth on the battlefield trivial things are put aside and trusting your comrades is necessary to success. When trust becomes a requirement and you trust someone else to watch your back with your life on the line, you will form a deep connection with them. So even if they were working together again with Shirou the whole group's relationship wouldn't just be distant it would also be extremely weak with him, for most if not all of them. Most people spend more time with their best friend than a classmate they are friends with right? Shirou who normally doesn't express the depth of his own feelings and troubles or tries hard to rely on others wouldn't be someone they would be worried about. After all on the surface he would seem like a pushover, overly nice, reckless and stupid if not normal guy. I mean before he get stabbed by Lancer in the anime didn't he seem like a strangely nice but stupid normal guy, who gets easily taken advantage of? That's what most of them would see and even if they saw his other qualities without understanding his motivations, they would think him quitting TSAB is for the best since he is both extremely weak and his dream is ridiculous. Most people would give up on unrealistic dreams beyond their abilities so they would normally be right.
However, as you know normal is not a word we can use to describe Shirou in any way at all. So when sweet, lovable Nanoha realizes just how serious he was about his dream and how she failed him, not from some dangerous criminal but by being a bad friend it would break her heart. When they finally met again after the Holy Grail War, if she tried to get to know him better and spent more time with him after the brutal war he went through, then they could have formed a bond again like when they were kids. After all for Shirou they still are his precious friends he values. If she reached out and put in as much effort as she does in her job then she would have gained his trust and heard the truth about his full abilities because he treasures their bond. If she just noticed what he went through and tried to understand who he is now, then everything could have been may have been friends in the past and she might have understood Shirou had problems but she never fully understood Shirou. If she took the chance to do so because what the lonely Shirou really needed was friends who would help him live and accept himself with all his flaws and problems. At the end of the day all humans needed friends and family who look out for them, especially someone like Shirou. However, Shirou had none of that, partly due to his own stubbornness and partly due to everyone else's ignorance. When Nanoha figures that it will eat her up.

The worst part is that this really is the most likely realistic outcome in a world where Shirou is too weak to keep or be of use. The others are all super talented and even with his circuits unlocked unless Shirou has access to high level mystic codes or Noble Phantasms before the HGW then him being left behind for his own good is the logical outcome.

furukawa023 chapter 1 . 1/10/2018
Unknown to Nanoha, Shirou soul went to that place. The promised place where he can be reunited with her. The place where she rests after her long wearisome journey. The place where he must keep pursuing endlessly. The place that said it takes a miracle for him to reach. So that miracle happens they were reunited.

A fated reunion of the one that keeps waiting continuously, and another that keeps pursuing endlessly. She who waited for centuries, and He who endured centuries of many trials, and hardship. Her dream continues for eternity as she keeps reliving those 2 weeks, the happiest time in her entire life.

Even if the scabbard that embodied utopia was lost forever, and that which wished for peace was covered in blood. Even if the sword that promised victory was cast into the lake, defeated and lost to the depths of history... always, they shall long for each other.

The two look up the same sky and yearn for each other, their feeling reaching out into nothingness as it tries to find its destination at a different time, different places.

And so, the miracle happens, and they reunite at that place. The ever-distant utopia.

holy crap, shirou really gets screwed over in this ya
I Before A Except After K chapter 2 . 2/27/2017
What the hell happened in Chapter 2? The first was written well enough, but it seems like here you wouldn't be satisfied unless you explained damn near every statement, removed every bit of nuance with a fine-toothed comb. It's a slog to read, and frankly it's an unnecessary addition.
Guest chapter 2 . 11/12/2016
Wow. Gotta admit. While sad tone, this is awesome. Your expand on the story is good and logical.
Sol of the Twilight chapter 1 . 10/31/2016

ARSLOTHES chapter 2 . 10/10/2016
Hope you include a little bit about Vivio after. I love this continuation
HolyKnight5 chapter 1 . 10/6/2016
Ironically, this its more likely to drive Nanoha straight into the path of Alaya, willingly becoming a Counter-Guardian, if it means to forever erase the temporal continuity pathways what would end up with Shirou being abandoned by her and the others.
ramenblitz chapter 2 . 10/6/2016
I'm a huge fan of this. I know i'll feel slightly depressed at the ending, but I'm looking forward to how part 2 will turn out.
greenscoop1 chapter 2 . 10/6/2016
