I know I said this in the last review, but you really are a great writer. Keep on keeping on, friend.

That was a lot of happy emotions to deal with. You are a phenomenal writer. You really have the capability to make the reader feel what the character is feeling, and that in and of itself is super important, if not rare. The way you stayed true to the characters was also super important, but to me, the best part was seeing the characters develop beyond what we already knew, making us like them even more.

I really don’t think Joel saved and killed all the fireflies out of love for Ellie, or the desperation of losing another daughter. That would make him selfish. I think it’s a lot more. Throughout the game you get little hints about what the virus is all about, it grows all over the brain... the brain is what keeps this virus alive, it’s what keeps us alive. If they kill Ellie, they kill the cure, and they kill all chance of saving mankind. Yes, Joel loves Ellie that much is clear he’s grown attached you can see that... but if you play through the game, and pick up these details you see this too. So Joel’s killing all these Fireflies in order yes to save Ellie, but also to save mankind... that’s clear as can be. Because if he hadn’t done what he did if he had failed the cure would have died with Ellie.

I think in a way Joel tells Ellie all the time he loves Her with “my baby girl” or in his actions... the words I love you don’t need have to be spoken to count... sometimes just know... but nice to hear.. but I always thought endearments were that too... that’s why the scene in the game hit me so hard.

But that of actions heartbreaking chapter... glad Michelle is gone so she won’t hurt Ellie anymore wonder ho she knew... if she had fireflies ties or something with David or prior to that.

I didn’t have any trouble with the chapter & I’m a girl... I won’t say it didn’t affect me, because it made me cringe at what she did to Ellie. But in my book, what an abuser does to a child makes them a monster. So, Michelle was a monster simply put. I didn’t see her as human in that sense especially in “this apocalyptic world” that they are living in. Joel had to protect Ellie... there was no reason for Michelle to attack her like that. I had my theories about her when she was described and then where she was from I started to think she was maybe a group member of David’s.

But I do think that Tommy maybe should’ve locked her up, or done something else rather than sent her out into the wilderness because what if there ate more bandits left she could bring them back... but here’s hoping the infected take care of her be for she gets that chance.

Interested in your take on their story after the game ended. I always sorta had mixed feelings on it... saw both sides of it

The amount of extrapolations and the presence of the narrator is quite daunting. I have faith that it would improve over time though.

I would argue that replacing Ellie and Joel's respective names with father and daughter does not add to the emotional depth of the story. Just voicing my opinion, the plot so far is pretty great.

Quite frankly, the emotions in this chapter is quite... saturated, which make it kind of hard to process. I'll continue for the plot. Excited for TLoU 2 next year? lol

Dude i know he got hurt and all. But joel's "rage" was a little bit underwhelming. He killed many hunters,killed many infected. Then gets kicked by a nineteen year old then trips like wtf. Joel's character screams badass in every single way. I am LOVING his sweet moments with ellie but wtf is his underwhelming fighting scenes. Overall im loving it so far BUT. He rages then doesnt even destroy a single bone of michelle. He rages then trips because of a fucking nineteen year old. Wtf! I was literally anticipating what he'll do when he rages and i got underwhwlmed by it. But story and everything ish good.

In my entire life, there has only ever been two things that could bring me to tears. One of them was the Last Of Us and the other is this story. The way you've captured the bond between Ellie and Joel is perfect and I could clearly imagine each and every scene and thought that it wouldnt be out of place in the Last Of Us universe, and wouldnt be any different had it been created by Naughty Dog themselves, unlike so many other stories and fanfictions I've read. You have a way with words on a biblical scale and I just wanted to thank you for sharing this amazing story you've created

Wow, you kinda lost me with this one, sorry. I just feel like you missed a major plot point here. See, playing as Joel in the game you realise, since Pittsburgh really, that the Fireflies weren't all that they claimed to be. And Joel knows this. Every city that the Fireflies "liberated" from the military always ended up worse off and filled with bandits - enter Pittsburgh. Also, Joel, finds a lot of evidence that the cure theory that the Fireflies's doctors were working on was complete shit. In Colorado they tried to cure several infected monkeys, which failed, and then their lead doctor got bit by said monkeys - he died - and then they got driven out by bandits. PLUS, along with that doc's audio files, you later find even more files detailing how there was More Than One person that they had experimented on and that even after removing the fungus on the brain they could not synthesize a vaccine. NOT only that but Marlene's plan was one of extreme desperation and stupidity. She was basically psychopathic at that point. It is complete idiocy to Kill the "one" person that is immune to the Cordyceps fungus. If indeed her body had somehow neutralized the fungi and adapted to it, then the Only smart thing is to have kept her Alive to try and study the interactions between her body and the fungus, all the while taking blood and fluid samples and conducting ACTUAL scientific research on it. I'm terribly sorry about this rant but I just can't see how people don't get this. Obviously by the end, Joel Realises just how insane the the Fireflies have become and what little chance there is of a vaccine/cure. THAT is why he up and murders those psychos. Plus, they would've killed him no matter what, and I think that in the Improbable chance that they did get a vaccine that they would have just used it to leverage power and make everyone obey their new Firefly overlords. THE END.

Does anyone have any immediate neighbors in this town? lol. No one ever comes to investigate. Pretty good chapter. Although, I have to ask why Joel didn't simply shoot her through the door? I wouldn't feel sorry for killing her either. That Witch was evil.
