Oh my goodness, I love this. I LOVE this. I love the tender relationship you've built between Luke and Vader. It's wary, yet gentle, and full of respect and adoration. And the discussion they have about the flaws of the old Jedi Order are so perfect. I'm so glad that Anakin is finally going to be able to do what he had set out to do as a child and free the slaves. I was smiling like an idiot the entire time I read this. :)

A nice piece and Anakin slowly is getting his fire back.

It makes sense that the transmitter would be in the abdominal area since an explosion of any size in that area would cause internal bleeding and the person would be dead in a matter of minutes and unless they were already at a medical center and they knew what the problem was but even then it might be too late.

Some have placed it in an arm but an arm can be lost with no long lasting effects. Internal bleeding on the other hand is hard to stop.

Maybe next time they can free some slaves and Anakin can do more healing.

This story is so rich with meaning, the complexity of the different levels is astonishing – the father and son thread (with the growing familiarity Luke obviously doesn’t know many thing about Anakin’s past), the little details about the Tatooine-background, and of course, the higher common purpose, the fight against slavery, something to live for Anakin. I also love very much your Luke, he is gentle and clever and sensible and he treats wonderfully and with lot of empathy his former Sith Lord father :-). This universe you've created is so wonderful. And so deeply moving! The trauma of all the different types of slavery that Anakin has been through is so visceral - rather like that transmitter buried deep in his gut. And sweet, wonderful Luke with his determination to free the slaves! I think I can’t love Luke Skywalker anymore and then I discover your take on him. I love the fact that you’ve cast Luke as a priest-like character who will be helping people on the ground level instead of only raising up a bunch of warriors. A new Jedi Order with a strong foundation of service and empathy - what a concept! I love this AU so very much.
