I love how even Impa is talking about Sheik as if she isn't Zelda. I mean if you think about it, of all the Sages, only Impa would know that Sheik is Zelda.

This chapter was very different from what I expected... that’s good for a novelisation, and I can certainly see how you’ve written in the downfall timeline. I’m probably not telling you anything you don’t already know, but don’t feel to compelled to stay true to aspects of canon such as the timeline- it’s far to constraining, at least that’s how I felt when I wrote my own novelisation.

I have a bad feeling about Saria’s fairy, but I’m also a bit confused about the ocarina. It’s probably just how I read it, but I wasn’t sure if you were saying that Ganondorf had destroyed Saria’s ocarina or the Ocarins of Time. I was wondering if it was going to turn into one of those time travel stories where no matter how often the hero tries to change time, history keeps repeating itself. They’re kind of fun.

This chapter seemed quite dialogue heavy, but overall I thought it was good.

It’s a bit hard to see the Great Fairy as anything other than how their depicted in OoT or their creepier incarnation in BotW, so it felt a little weird seeing one have a major role, but it was still good.

The mood seemed predominately melancholic, which I think suits the atmosphere of this part of the game. I’ll be interested to see how Link reacts to the revelation his not a Hylian- most fanfics make his response very muted.

It was quite a pleasant surprise to get an update notification for this. I'm surprised you've persevered with it after such a long time, most writers on here would've completely gone off to other projects by now. That said, I'm glad you're continuing it. I have only skimmed it, as I'm looking at a mountain of uni work at the moment, but I just wanted to say that its nice to see that you're continuing this (and you really had me thinking Saria had killed herself there... dang it, don't do that to me! :)

You're writing is as good as I recall and the chapter is well polished from what I've read.
