LoonRider chapter 1 . 7/23/2015
Ooooo this is glorious. I'm seconding the congrats on portraying the early bits of the series and the lack of the trust (and coordination, in Ax's case) that would eventually keep them together as comrades.

You nailed Marco's voice quite patently, too, especially his early voice. Splendid work!
FullMentalPanic chapter 1 . 5/26/2015
I'm really impressed with how this is written, especially since it's set pretty early on in the series and you do a fantastic job showing the not completely developed relationships and lack of trust between various parties. Great job with the mix of unflinching realism and wry humor of Marco's personality. He's got just the right mix of wily awareness to think of how this could be an issue.

I'm glad the others thought of it too, because it's just nice to spread competence around, and because I personally realized how the morphing would put all them in excellent unblemished health pretty early on. Though I don't think I quite thought of the suspicious Yeerks being on the lookout for Wolverine levels of healing. Something I really like about this is the whole not quite stated thing about taking pressure off of Jake. All the people who know him know that he'll beat himself up for not thinking of this (although it might have already occurred to him with how it seems to have occurred to all the regularly morphing humans), and I love that Rachel is one of the minds behind it as well. K.A. or the various Ghost Authors seemed to have a quite a bit of trouble balancing out Rachel's boldness with her intelligence, and it often seemed that character was portrayed inconsistently. Thanks for keeping her canon with her Packard Foundation Outstanding Student status. Seriously, superb character portrayals in this. Plus it has humor, creepiness, and moral questioning. Those things that made the series, and this fic, so dang awesome.

Nice idea. Imagine, if when thy demorphed, they got their umbilical cords back. Ew. :) I always wondered what happened to stitches and staples (to pull wounds together) when someone de/morphs. I know bullets mold out of the body (book 16, Jake was shot as a rhino and when he returned to his original body the bullet melded out of his skin), so maybe stitches and staples would fall out. I wonder how much jewlery Rachel and Cassie lost whilst morphing. Did those fall out?
