Reviews for Duty Demands
Elin Eriksen chapter 1 . 9/6/2017
I bought and read this only a few days ago on Kindle and I loved it! Adored this Elizabeth and Darcy.
I thought it was very cleverly built up with nigh on unbearable tension but with a respite now and then. I appreciate a little love between the anxiety :)
Grumpy Insomniac chapter 1 . 4/22/2017
I read the whole story on Kindle Unlimited and figured I'd leave a review here. I really enjoyed this- definitely a lot better than many of the JAFF books I've read. I particularly enjoyed the first half of the story, the way you wrote their marriage when one thinks it is a marriage of convenience and the other thinks it is a marriage of love was particularly good. You got their characters just right and it was how I would have expected them to behave in these circumstances as this point in their lives. I felt so sorry for Lizzy when he told her her family would not be welcome to visit.
The second half of the story didn't work quite so well for me, though I still enjoyed it and I thought it had a satisfying ending. The issue with Lady Catherine seemed to me to be a bit of a non issue in that she had no legal standing to do anything and I felt Lizzy's love came far too quickly. She never even saw her husband again or received any correspondence from him before she realised her love. She simply reviewed all their past encounters in a different light and whilst I'm sure that could lead to like, I'm not sure it realistically lead to love. I also have an issue with any pairing of Colonel Fitzwilliam and Georgiana, as upsettingly popular as it is. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it and I liked the way you showed the changes that Darcy underwent, despite the fact that we never got to know what went through his mind during his time in London.
Your writing style was very good, although I think it could benefit from a touch more wit and humour to make it even better. Overall, this was one of the better published JAFF stories I have read and I enjoyed it a great deal.

ProfessorPedant chapter 3 . 11/16/2016
I am reading the complete version of this wonderful story. In Chapter 7 you refer to Darcy's Aunt and Uncle as Lord Robert and Lady Eleanor. This is incorrect. As Earl and Countess of Matlock they would be refered to as Lord and Lady Matlock. Or they would be called by their Christian names if the person refering to them is close enough. Using Lord First Name is only corect for the younger sons of Dukes and Marquises. Calling the Earl Lord Robert implies that he does not have his own title and demeans him as a commoner (the children of peers are actually commoners, even if they use a courtesy title). Lady First Name is only used by the daughters of Dukes, Marquises, and Earls either unmarried or married to men who are not peers in their own right. Lady Catherine was married to a knight or baronet so not a peer. Again using that form of address for a Countess would be an insult.

If you ever need help with titles and forms of address please check out Debrett's website or I would be happy to help.

Looking forward to reading more.

AMBER SWAN chapter 37 . 11/14/2016
I have enjoyed so much your story. I didnt write a review every chapter because these were more then 20 at the moment I began to read and because english is not my native thongue so it would make the process slower. Ive like that it was well thought since the beggining and you respected and drew the characters according to the book, besides you were no running making fast transformation with them as if you would change in a minute what youve been all your life.
Congratulations
