If I'm honest, I liked *elements* of the later seasons, but they were just handled so poorly and characters behaved very inconsistently without good reason I'm not sure if this fic shouldn't be filed under Tragedy instead!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love absolutely every. single. word. But I think my favorite line, if I had to narrow it down, would be the one about "some writer making a show tank because they left their integrity in another purse." Yep. And thank you for including the end of season 5 and (especially) season 6 in your brilliant massacre. I get so frustrated when people think season 7 was the shark jumping year. The characters were ruined long before that.

I think my favorite line is when Rory sums things up nicely, about inconsistencies for the sake of cheap plot drama. Isn't that the truth? Didn't anyone on that set have a binder with the character backstories? Creative limitation isn't a bad thing.

Luke had to have been with Anna (a girl he almost married) the same time he was with Rachel, his very serious girlfriend (?); and his meeting/involvement with Lorelai before the series is so murky. ASP could have easily put a wig on Sherrylynn Fenn as a recasted Rachel, and have her come in S6 with a five year old kid if she absolutely HAD to have a long-lost kid plot. At least then we would have been in on it, and we know he actually had feelings for Rachel. Anna did not come across as a romantic rival to Lorelai. This stuff all came out of nowhere.

I loved it. While I didn't think that last couple seasons of the show were as bad as you did, I did appreciate your brutal, but hilarious honesty. It was great that you used the gang from SH to trash their alternate reality.

Is it too soon to tell you I love you? In the space of several hundred words you've turned the dark seasons into the absolute parody they should have been from the beginning.
Please find a couple more moments to rework. We need your kind around here.
God, what I wouldn't give for those last seasons to have been a Bob Newhart-like dream sequence. Your TV show is a great response.
