When I looked for a Ruby and Sapphire fanfic this is exactly what I was looking for. I LOVED THIS! So good I had to read it twice :P.

Awwww, I absolutely loved this ending! There were a few moments of suspense when it didn't look like they would get Sapphire to the fountain in time, but for the most part this chapter let the readers and the characters decompress after the previous traumas. Ruby and Sapphire's fusion into Garnet was incredibly adorable, and I found it touching that they so freely shared their memories of the horrible experience and immediately empathized with each other. I was afraid that there would be some angst introduced with Ruby and Sapphire being distanced from each other and afraid to share their pain, but I'm glad that you guys didn't go that route. Instead, the simple declaration that love was enough to hold them together won out in the end.

We haven't seen a whole lot of Ruby and Sapphire so far on the show, but I thought the characterization was spot-on and it made me fall in love with them even more. Great fic, I hope you guys collaborate again sometime!

Yes! Finally! :D It was so incredibly satisfying to see Ruby crash through the force field and beat the living daylights out of that topaz monster. Victory.

In light of recent episodes, Ruby's rage over Sapphire being manipulating into fusing with another (especially under false pretenses) feels especially weighty. And it was a great catalyst to allow her to tap into her full Eternal Flame Baby potential.

Sapphire's singing and their little one-sided conversation broke my heart here. Ruby seems like she's finally starting to accept the inevitable... but I really hope that's not the case. I hope she'll be able to strategize, or at the very least find a way to communicate with her other half.

And now the psychological torture for Sapphire begins. Hooray.

I'm normally not a fan of reading the same scene from the perspectives of two different characters, but I felt it is SUPER effective to hear Sapphire's hallucination-induced ramblings again from Ruby's point of view. This is so painful. Obviously I'm not going to be able to stop reading it tonight.

Ahhhhhhhh, that was worse. Thanks for the false hope, though- it was nice to see Sapphire fight back for a while. It only made it more painful when she was ultimately caught.

I love the final paragraphs. Even fighting for the sake of fighting wasn't worth it. It's not even the principle of the thing that can keep Ruby going. It's a raw need to save Sapphire. Gahh.
