Beautiful and well written, each of the flashbacks flow quite smoothly with the happenings in the present, so it's not jarring to go from one to the next. Excellent work my dear, I quite enjoyed reading it :)

This was very sweet, and I like that you had a mage work Valygar out of his shell :)
The flashbacks worked well, and were knitted very smoothly into the present time of the story.
