This story is so very well written & deserves to have hundreds of comments. So sad that it doesn't.

I don't know why you don't have more reviews than you do. This little story is incredible. I love it!

Just reread this story for the 4th or 5th time. This is one of my all time favorites. I loved how you said Uncas was tall, strong, trim and muscular and his hair was still long, thick and black although streaked with gray. But your description reminded me of the shot in the movie when Michael Mann had the camera totally focused on Uncas as he looked at Alice.

This is incredibly well written. Just incredible. You really hooked me and then there it was - they are older. It made me sad that I had missed those intervening years but then so happy that here they are - older and both still there and still so in love.

I can't say how much I love this story... simply beautiful and touching and sweet! Uncas and Alice are so tendere in their sixties, still kissing and chatting about shirts and blankets... and it seems so fair they were blessed with five sons and with all these granchildren. They deserve to live happily everafter!
"And every evening after supper, he would sit beside his beloved Alice"... how beautiful and moving! Thank you for this masterpiece my friend!

I loved this story, just like I love so many of your other stories. Very sweet. I very well could imagine this as Uncas and Alice's life if they had survived.
