I have nothing to say to show my appreciation of this story,

no words can be used to say how touched I was.

and especially the end that you dedicated this to your mom,

it struck home, because it made me think about my grandmother I miss so much.

*bows*

I love this piece
Mistress Quill chapter 1 . 9/28/2003
Your story about Kathryn and her mother touched me very deeply. I am sorry about the loss of your mother and I hope that you two were close. I almost cried because it was so touching, so natural, so believing, and so real. It is a beautiful story and I am grateful to have found it and read it. Thank you for writing such a beautiful story. You are so right about the bond between a mother and daughter.
Tiger Girl1 chapter 1 . 4/28/2003
Again, this is excellent. You have a great gift with words, and you use it to extremely good effect in describing Kathryn's reunion with her mother. You have an insight into the character of Kathryn Janeway that is nothing short of brilliant, I think. You also have an insight into such a reunion, no doubt given through your own experience. I could never write a story like this as well as you have.

You say you've taken to writing fanfiction in order to teach yourself to write dialogue. Well you have done it. Your dialogue is real, and the characters live and breathe through it. Here, too, you've done an amazing job of sticking to the characters' own personalities and characters while adding a depth that is incredible. Your dialogue is beautiful, and I can see Captain Janeway speaking every word - can hear every nuance of her voice as she does. Wonderful, wonderful work!

Are you going to be writing original stories? If you do, and you post it anywhere, would you mind letting me know? I wouldn't want to miss out on more of your incredible work!

fan chapter 1 . 4/3/2003
A wonderful story. You give the characters a great depth while keeping them true to the character. I especially enjoyed the part when Kathryn realized how much she was like her mother. This is a beautiful redition of a mother/daughter relationship and one worthy of Captain Janeway.
peacejaw chapter 1 . 2/13/2003
Very powerful story,SueJ... and very well written! Thank you! Please continue to write stories such as this!
Tharin chapter 1 . 2/1/2003
A wonderful story. You caracterize Kathryn Janeway very well, and you show her as a normal person, not as the alwasy "lager-then-life-captain". Please write more about this mother/daughter relationship!
Linnis chapter 1 . 12/27/2002
That was a great story! I truly loved it soo much and it is so true to the characters. It reminds me of me and my mum and I hope we'll be as close after I move away.
Matt1969 chapter 1 . 12/18/2002
wow... beautifully written.
walkinshade chapter 1 . 12/15/2002
my first attempt for a review failed, but this is such a wonderful story, so I try again today. This is surely one of the best stories I have read over the years, its great, full of emotion and so true to Kathryn Janeway. You must have loved and love your mother very much, believe me, they are always with us... Keep writing!
Terri Agustin chapter 1 . 12/15/2002
Great story. Put into words what I have realized for a long time but could not express. I'm sure that your mother would be very touched and very proud. Keep on writing. You have talent, and more importantly, insight.
