And look at Law with the character development- caring about the other three like that. And he even thought of way to get Ace and Sabo to trust him with the medine he made. How sweet! |
| VampireApple chapter 4 . 11/6/2019 Well. This chapter was hard to read. The scenes with Doflamingo were rough. Law and Corazon, though really sweet. Law feeling so alone, and then Corazon figuring it out, and just hugging him. I tested up when Garp thought his grandsons were dead. The scene between Garp and Shanks was powerful and emotional too. It was gratifying to see that Shanks could acknowledge that Garp really did love the boys and wanted what was best for them, even if they disagreed. |
| VampireApple chapter 3 . 11/6/2019 Wow. A lot happened in this chapter! I really like this line "Shanks said just cause Jiji is scared for me doesn't mean he has to be an asshole about it". It really does show what I was thinking about Garp in the last chapter, he cares, but is doing kinda the wrong thing. I see how he thinks he's protecting the boys if they're marines. He's high up in the power structure, and he'd be in a better place to protect them. Very interested to see how that turns out. Okay, interesting choice making Teach a winged D and having Doflamingo kill him instead of him killing Thatch and betraying the Whitebeard pirates. |

I know people who don't like him, and see him as abusive, and I get that perspective, I do. It seems like you've found a balance- Garp loves Luffy, and is only trying to protect him, even if it's the wrong thing. It's a contrast to Sabo's parents. |
