I always thought Sai was a pretty good partner for Saku. Maybe because he is always observing too, and is rather honest (read: blunt lol) about people's interactions. And he gives pretty good advice in canon too! Sai with Ino seemed wrong, especially since Sai listened to Sakura's advice and therefore called Ino "Beautiful" in canon. And Ino only liked Sai at first, because he was rather handsome and kindof resembled Sasuke. While Sakura was his new teammate, and spent more time getting to know eachother. So. Yeah~ I love this fic! Sasuke realizing his missed chances, and Sai being wise but fair.

Oh, that’s precious, I love it. After you’ve painted these interactions between Sai and Sakura and after that manly conversation, wow, I hope Sai and Sakura get together. Highly doubt that this Sasuke can rebuild himself to “get the girl”, but that’s only my opinion
