LoveGlutton chapter 1 . 3/12/2019 Sum of all and by them driven |
nikesilvermoon chapter 1 . 8/26/2018 Loved this story, and also the song. Thank you for writing this. To anyone else reading this, please check out The Humbling River, the lyrics of which the title comes from. |
Hebi R chapter 1 . 6/2/2017 I know we have two other major AUs in progress, and that you've said you're a slow writer. I also saw on your tumblr that you didn't want to continue this because you didn't want to run into the new movie canon. I hope some day, when you have time on your hands (hah hah, I know, but it could happen) you might change your mind. And to hell with the new movie if it gets in the way of this. |
Elf Kid2.0 chapter 1 . 11/27/2016 This is good. This is good and heartwarming and pure, and I am glad to have read it. |

fiesa chapter 1 . 1/10/2016 Ah. Thank you. That was something that needed to be written. I'm sure there are a lot of other stories out there that deal with the conundrum of the Jedi codex: be compassionate and mild, but don't fall in love. And I'm sure there are others out there who have their own opinion regarding the topic; I liked your approach and your execution of the topic in this story quite a lot. I just can't imagine that one kind of love - friendship and compassion - should be right, but another kind - romantic love - shouldn't be. The connection between Luke and Anakin, and the remainder that they are father and son and similar even in their ways of thinking - you described it beautifully. I'm sure, together they will find a way. |
oz-cocoa chapter 1 . 1/6/2016 "I'll be a Jedi like my son before me." Excuse me while I go recover from getting blasted in the feels. |
kalmaegi chapter 1 . 1/3/2016 Ahhhh Luke's perspective of the Jedi's teachings is a gem. Truly. The Jedi Order was apathetic and indifferent, like the Airbenders (Vathara's Embers kind of muddled what was canon to me hahah) , and what ultimately alienated Anakin from them. Sometimes I forget they're a religious sect. With the clone wars and all. They're more like Samurai and their Bushido mixed with the patience of a monk. Tries not wince too much at the sheer impossibility of the Jedi Code. There is no emotion, there is the Force... Luke's Order will be what he sees fit and tailored in his ideals. A true and new Jedi Order. Though it does make wonder about Luke's Order in TFA. But I digress. |
Pink ranger 13 chapter 1 . 5/20/2015 It's great story and awesome |
Katla chapter 1 . 4/27/2015 I just had to drop a review to say how beautiful your perspective on the Star Wars universe is. I read "Guiding Winds" and then this story and your deep consideration of Tatooinian spirituality and culture is so arresting and compelling. It's so original, so deep, and so GOOD. Your exploration of what it means to be a slave - what it meant to Anakin - is just astonishing in its depth and sorrow. I can't even deal with all the emotions your writing has stirred up... and to top it all off, your take on the Luke and Vader relationship is amazing. At the risk of rambling on, I also wanted to mention that I recently followed you on Tumblr and your commentary and meta on Star Wars has been so deep and revelatory and just a treat to read. Sorry for gushing! I've just been really impressed with your unique take on all things Star Wars, and it all came tumbling out in this review lol. |
drazol chapter 1 . 4/27/2015 Nice story! |
sodorland chapter 1 . 4/27/2015 Plenty of love, but not mushy. |
heloise1 chapter 1 . 4/27/2015 It’s such a pleasure to find another story of this AU. I enjoyed immensely The Guiding Winds, the intimacy and the awkwardness of a building relationship as well as the little glimpses, details about the characters (I especially loved the moment about Luke’s bag and packing habits). Now I am more than happy that you continue your tale, father and son are bonding and finding a common emotional, intellectual and spiritual field to be together. It’s beautiful, it's amazing, please, carry on. |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/27/2015 Very nice... So very sweet and nice. I already loved the Guiding Winds, and although this is a totally different style, and doesn't have this... general feeling of solemnity and something greater around it, it's just as heartwarming. I really hope you will do more of these, for I love the dynamics between your Luke and your Anakin: you can feel the strong bond between them but it doesn't become overly mushy or fluffy, which I really like. Luke's questioning and the parallel with his father's same interrogations all those years ago is very well thought... indeed, Luke proved his father right. I also appreciate very much the fact that even though Anakin survived, he isn't cured of any of his injuries like by magic of supra-powerful technology, he merely changed the design of his life-supporting devices to not look like a monstrous machine anymore but still needs it very much. Right now I am wondering a lot of things about them, like how Leia, Han and the Alliance reacted to Anakin's redemption, like how Anakin survived the confrontation with the Emperor in the first place, or simply like what is Anakin building that he goes to such lengths to hide to his son? A surprise of some kind maybe? :) Anyway, despite the amount of my questions, this story stands on his own very well. The mysteries have some charm, too, and even though I want to know more, the atmosphere makes that it feels enough anyway, if you see what I mean. So thank you for sharing your texts with us. It is a real pleasure to read you. |
