I can't begin to tell you how incredible this story has been. My son was a soldier and has tried to kill himself 3 times. He had lost 5 friends to suicide in the 3 years since he left the Army. (one just 2 days ago)
You portrayed the pain of all those involved (well, except maybe the Plums. They are vile people), with such sensitivity.
Recovery is a long, difficult journey, but every day you make it, is a day you've survived.

A fabulous ending. No blood relatives but when you get to pick your family that usually ends up being perfect. This was a great adventure and thank you for sharing with us.

You have managed to capture the many facets of depression/ feelings of hopelessness and despair/ fear that life will never get better/ why, I can't go on... in such a heart wrenching true to life way. If only we all had a Ranger with unconditional love to try and make life bearable. Thanks for writing this story! Often life isn't easy and fun it was nice to read a story that reflected that but still managed to have a HEA.
