I love it!

LOL! I Love how there's a kerfluffle at the hotel desk as they arrive and Cath quickly gets the intell on it. She wasn't NavyIntell all those years for nothing!

And my fave sentence: The next morning, after confirming that the vertical activities in the shower could be just as enjoyable as the horizontal activities in the bathtub, twice, Steve and Catherine grabbed a quick breakfast and went down to the lagoon to try aqua biking.
Mari217 chapter 1 . 5/2/2015
So much wonderfullness here. So much. The excitement Catherine has at the unexpected getaway, the immediate help with Cammie, because everyone loves Cammie. The way she's their top priority.

The conversation in the truck, your subtle double meaning. Yes Catherine is motivating, And there's the undertone of how Steve would do anything for her, even if what he actually said out loud pertained to the soaking tub.

The sauciness, so well written, completely in character, completely them, and the undertones of such love and respect throughout. The curtains...the dinner..."order me whatever" because she's totally confident he knows her that well. That's the epitome of how you convey their unbreakable bond without out of character flowery diatribes.

The way they both confirm the importance of alone time, and how you show them simply reveling in whatever they do.

even the exchange with Sophia's mom, just terrific in the cohesive way they interact with her.

The beautiful dialogue at dinner...got me in the feeeeeeels. This just made me Deddest. From sweet, to saucy, to awww.

Beautiful work, as always. Bravo, Partner! Xo

Sorry for the late review life is quite literally completely mad!
I loved this story the first time I read it and still love it now (having read it at least 4 times and been interrupted each time before I got a chance to review). Right from the beginning it is so completely in character and such fun but the underlying message is so important.

Like Steve I'm beginning to feel a bit sorry for Carrie. Her and John (like Steve and Cath for many years) know it's the life they have chosen but so many of her plans keep getting derailed I do hope her and Cath manage their girls day soon. That being said, her misfortune turns into a very unexpected gain for our favourite couple and although they live and work together, the opportunity for a weekend away from 'normality' just to spend time together is so important.

I love how, even with the backdrop of lots of sex, which obviously is perfectly in character for these two, we have some really special moments. The motivation comments in the truck made me smile because yes Steve is talking in the context of taking a bath together but I felt he was also acknowledging the impact of Cath in his life generally. With her by his side he is opening up to so many experiences he would never ever have even considered before and as he states so categorically in the hotel room, he is enjoying them all! Every new experience with the extended family he is gaining so much from and its fab to read.

Steve watching Cath as he talked to Duke made me smile. Even while finishing up with work and having to be in professional mode he still can't quite tear his eyes away from the woman he loves. I can imagine he does this more often than he'd admit while they are in the office! I adore how Steve has identified Cath's calming effect on people, probably because the main person she has that effect on his him! The fact she is completely unaware of it is perfect. :-)

I love how both Steve and Cath identify at different points during the story how important time just for them is. It would be so easy for them to get sucked into daily life and convince themselves they spend loads of time together when actually it's work and home life that takes priority. Steve's declaration at dinner made me grin as he hits the nail on the head, so to speak. They are pulled in so many different directions and have so many calls on their time but the most important thing is that they both stay completely secure in the others feelings for them and that they remember to carve some time out for just them. Now that they have identified that, they will be fine as both of them will make sure they stay focused!

Steve is really adamant about that ratio, isn't he?
I love that he's always a gentleman. In public and in private and in bed. Shows that it's not just for show when people are watching, but something he just thinks is right.

And that last scene made me go AWWWWWW again.

alharpole chapter 1 . 4/27/2015
Love, love romance! A perfect story for Steve and Catherine. Thank you!
kimphin1 chapter 1 . 4/25/2015
Hotter than we're used to with you! Great job! And so wonderfully set at the end.

I'd like to state for the record that aqua trikes are neither fun or relaxing. Triatheletes weekend less energy during a race than it takes to move those damn things over the water. Forget helping in the kindergarten class. . They'd definitely need a nap after spending time on those torture machines
FicreaderT chapter 1 . 4/25/2015
So sweet! Yes, alone time is good. Very, very good!
St chapter 1 . 4/24/2015
Absolutely loved this story! On the show, Steve would definitely be MUCH happier and content if Catherine came back AND stayed!
sue2556 chapter 1 . 4/24/2015
I love their alone time and making sure they knew just how important they are to each other. Looks like they are already planning a major bathroom retro with a huge soaking tub.
Lawsy89 chapter 1 . 4/24/2015
This was great. Nothing like a little sexy times!
katydid13 chapter 1 . 4/24/2015
I love seeing Steve and Cath adjust to being part of a family. Figuring out how to prioritize alone time is part of that. I keep wondering if you are leading up to a McRoll child that lives them. I love the journey.
Allison chapter 1 . 4/24/2015
Aww love the romantic getaway, great story
Five-0 Fan chapter 1 . 4/24/2015

I'm jealous of that weekend getaway.
