Kids can be real mean, especially since they really have no filter and spout off what they hear at home. Doesn't make it hurt any less though. I enjoyed your story, especially how frantic Jane was and how Maura's first thought was that Jane was having a medical emergency. Thanks for sharing.

Kids display the behavior they pick up by their parents and their peers. Sad but true! Fighting against such behavior is hard and depressing but necessary. BUT you have someone at home who likes you very much (at least i took this from your different notes), so take comfort from this fact.
