Intoxika chapter 1 . 8/23/2015 This is really great. Please write more stories like this one. |
ConnorRambles chapter 1 . 5/31/2015 Great story! I love the idea of the Old Gods, and I actually thought it was neat how you included Sakkoi to be the Time Patroller in Xenoverse! Also all the characters were beautifully done. The only note of 'criticism' I might have would be describing Whis as an alien. I kinda get why that description might work, but in my mind he's a god, just like Beerus. I know that seems kinda nit-picky, but it didn't really take anything away from the story at all! |
blueflower1594 chapter 1 . 5/14/2015 Aw, I loved the ending and how you tied it into Xenoverse in the end! Way to go! |
Blythe J chapter 1 . 5/7/2015 I loved your history... it's perfect. |
felixng2013 chapter 1 . 4/26/2015 Good fanfic that ties into the new BOG movie. I also like how it was liked to DBZ Xenoverse. Vegeta and Goku were very IC while still showing Vegeta's development as a character. Its nice to see Vegeta shine for once too. |
Tsumugi chapter 1 . 4/23/2015 Pretty cool story concept. Vegeta, kicking ass as a Saiyan God, and being the first to unlock it before Goku? Not a bad thing to do, given how badly I hear the final movie cheats Vegeta. You should do more stories like these |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/22/2015 I'm back, and I finished it this time. The story was great! Words can not describe! If they made this a movie, I would DEFINITELY watch it. Again, awesome story, we more authors like you. |
LastationLover5000 chapter 1 . 4/22/2015 Okay, this was quite an interesting little experiment. Always fun to be added on as someone's consultant, since I do it enough anyway. A story where VEGETA stars as the main protagonist is something I don't get enough of — not that they don't exist, mind you, I just don't go looking around for them — so this was a refreshing read. The Old Gods are a rather interesting concept; something that even the Gods of Destruction couldn't properly destroy — something Beerus the Destroying couldn't destroy, loved that — is always interesting to see. I assume the 'Old Gods' term is a reference to he Cthulhu mythos? Goku and Vegeta's training session with Whis was nice to see. I think you managed to capture Whis fairly well, something I don't think I managed to do in my Revival of F prologue. I love how PETTY he is though; he'll train you, just feed him. Hilariously, he reminds me of a stern, but flamboyant, parent. Like he's Vegeta and Goku's campy dad. I love the sarcasm you directed at the name "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan". It IS ridiculous but at least the infinite number game is done. Vegeta, late for his anniversary with Bulma? Hilarious. But Lord Beerus nearly killing them for all the ruckus they're making? Priceless. A mysterious creature rising from the depths of Earth's oceans to wreck havoc? We interrupt this DBZ story to bring you Pacific Rim. There's just something about the way you write Vegeta in social situations. I remember the series you attempted but never went anywhere with — Vegeta at an anime convention. That's literally all I need to say for that. But you writing Vegeta in any normal person situation is just...I love it, it's hilarious. But what's really good is how this explores Vegeta's human side in a way you can't really do outside of the narration of a written work. He's a Saiyan, he wants to maintain his pride, he wants to train. And yet he's developing affection for the planet he lives on, and the people who live on it. The fact that the boy, Sakkoi, looks like his son, doesn't hurt. I quite liked Vegeta chewing Gohan out. It warms my heart to see someone snap at that idiot. Look at all this, Gohan. THIS SHIT IS WHY YOU NEED TO TRAIN! So the plane scene was pretty nice...and then you frickin' blew it up. No, I was seriously like "...what the fuck!?" It reminded me rather of when Goku, Chi-Chi, and Gohan were eating in West City and the mall blew up. The Z-fighters in a situation that can actually happen to any mundane person? Shocking as hell. Mercifully, everyone important survived — and Sakkoi, that lucky little bastard. So Vegeta and Kakarot go to confront the 'two ton iguana' responsible and let me just say this, seeing Goku blasted out of the fight so soon — and after doing something so bloody stupid — was actually refreshing. And then it was all left to Vegeta, who was having about as much trouble as you'd expect. I loved Vegeta's ascension. Seeing him go over every time he succumbed to weakness, every time he wasn't able to save himself or anyone else — especially after he just saw Sakkoi die — was a glorious moment. He'd finally had enough of letting Kakarot do everything, of being unable to help, and when it snapped, he let everything go and I loved to see him give into the anger. The callbacks were even better; the villains had a strong impact on Vegeta's psychology, Cell and Freeza most of all (Freeza, understandably). The fact that you compared this to a movie is a bit funny since, just like in true movie fashion, Piccolo saves Gohan. It's such a nice thing to see Goku at death's door while Vegeta arrives, draped in his new Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form. In true fashion, after achieving his new form, Satais was utterly and completely outclassed by the new God of the Super Saiyans. Nice to see you bring the Final Flash back. The ending before the epilogue was definitely cute. Vegeta agreeing to go on a trip with his wife and son because of their anniversary being ruined? That's actually adorable, and I love moments that show, deep down, Vegeta does care for his family. Oh God the ending. The ENDING. What the hell, I did not see that coming. Xenoverse, canon to this little one-shot, with Sakkoi summoned by Trunks to Toki Toki City. That was a twist I didn't see coming, though I do feel a bit bad...for Sakkoi. Other World is better than dealing with Trunks. Regardless, the end was a very nice touch, and the story itself was actually very enjoyable to read. You need to do some more DBZ stories, man. |
MorgenSter chapter 1 . 4/21/2015 I really enjoyed the story, and I immediately got fond with the boy. When he died, I felt like I was Vegeta. Also, Vegeta that finally surpasses Goku? Yeah, about time! Vegeta worked his ass of for years while Goku had time to reach SSJ3 thanks to his dead body. And now he has to catch up. Thanks for the story, and nice add for the final! |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/21/2015 I didn't finish, but what I read so far was good. When I finish I'll review again. |
