Finally got around to reading through updates of stories, love this one! I look forward to the next chapter. Hal definitely needs something done, was a little surprised by Metro Man's reaction. I'd think he'd know Roxanne enough to know if she actually says something needs to be done or watched that he'd follow that, not like she's gone calling him all the time about nothing. But it mentioned he doesnt like listening, so I guess that does fit with him. He's too self centered, so makes sense.
Also, I'm curious to see what Megamind will do nextKeep up the great work!

I love (hate) how Metro Man just... Completely dismisses Roxanne's threat-assessment of both Megamind and Hal, utterly confident that he knows best and she's being foolish. Meanwhile, Megamind over hear is 100% ready to throw down with this guy who was being creepy and disrespecting her boundaries!

I also love that Megamind respected and understood that she might not want company and didn't want to be touched, and didn't push at her boundaries.

Megamind wanting to be the first one she thinks of, wanting her love... Oooooh, there's the good feels! I live for this angst! But, he's just the Bad Boy she's seeing on the side, and if he wants to keep even that he had to make way for her actual boyfriend...

Meanwhile, she thinks he's lose interest if he found out she didn't actually HAVE another boyfriend, and she wants to call him bit doesn't want him to get in trouble... I love it.

O love the fluff and the angst and the mutual pining, and I always love your writing! Thank You for this!

This story has such a neat idea! I hope you continue! I can't wait to find out how Megamind reacts to finding out about Roxanne and Metroman not being a couple. And meeting Warden! So many possibilities. Super excited!

I love how you write Hal. I fully agree; that failure to acknowledge the blatant "GO AWAY" social cues wass aggressive and creepy.

Also, you did a really great job of writing the "feeling sick" bits. It's not fun, and you do an excellent job of capturing how it feels into words. That is truly impressive.

The bit where she got out her phone and contemplated her options was excellent. I love the fact that she knew Megamind would be in her corner, but also the fact that she considered all the relevant logistical issues with calling him as well. Se's too sick to yell at him about not killing someone she dislikes and is threatened by right now! Hal is a creeper, and this is great.

I liked the bit with Metro Man, and the fact that she described it as "tiresome." The sanctimonious attitude is irritating, but unsurprising. Metro Man. Dude. You are a) invulnerable, and b) a guy. You are in no position to tell a woman that a guy who wont leave her home at a moment when she's vulnerable and unable to MAKE him leave ISN'T an emergency. Women are basically trained from birth to do this kind of threat-assessment. Consider ACTUALLY LISTENING!

The bit with Megamind was excellent. I liked how he said "I'll stay, or go, as you will." It provided an excellent contrast to Hal's insistence of staying to "take care of her." I also like the affection, and the respect of boundaries that was shown in this chapter. It's great that she likes having him around, and trusts him enough to fall asleep with him in the room! That part was very adorable.

I also like Megamind's mix of protectiveness and (secret!) vulnerability here. He is, as far as he knows, just someone she's seeing on the side, possibly because she's irritated with her real boyfriend. She's his Number 1, and he wants to be hers as well. I think that's very sweet, and I am really enjoying the subtle bits and snippets of *angst* in this fic! It's really great.

Megamind taking Hal absolutely seriously as a threat is excellent. He's been in some situations; he knows about how dangerous people can be. His plots of revenge are scary, but also pretty great. I enjoyed the line about the broken jaw. Roxanne was probably right to be concerned about the balcony! I am very interested in what he decides to do about Hal... Hopefully, it'll be something that leads to him no longer being Roxanne's coworker...

This is an excellent, excellent story, and I enjoy it very much. I'm tempted to go back and read it from the beginning now! Thank You for writing this! :D

I love this, although I think Metro Man would not approve of Megs giving up his criminal empire completely. After all Megs being the Overlord of the criminal side of Metro City actual helps Metro out. Plus, it actually protects Roxanne. Let's face if Megs wasn't in charge she'd be the target of every criminal mastermind in Metro City.

Was rereading this, and 'shtup' reminded me of when they showed 'Blazing Saddles' on CBS (which will give you an idea how old I must be). They changed Lilly VonShtup to VonShhh when saying her name aloud, but you could see her name in large type next to the door of the saloon when they went in to see her perform.

You have such a sophisticated writing style. Love it. Keep going! I get you probably get that a lot but we need our fix! For real this one is great. Can't wait to see where it goes

If Megamind wasn't already trying to kill Metro Man, I WOULD. Real emergencies my ass, you sexist bastard. Should have just called Megamind and outed her relationship. Or had him kidnap her and hope Hal eventually left. You WERE the first one she thought of, you fool! And they're not dating! Argh.

WHAT. It ends right as they began to use the Love word! I NEED to know more! I added this story a long while ago and recently came back to reread it and I was not disappointed! I love this. You draw them out so delicately and accurately. Plus realistically. Keeping Megamind's proud front while also showing that he's actually quite shy and reserved about himself.
I can't wait for more dates and more intimate moments. I live for these beautiful real moments. This last chapter was wonderful.

Oh dang ! Left on a cliffhanger! It's definitely not good that Hal is here. I hope everything turns out well for Roxanne !

This. This right here is truly, truly excellent.

I love the conversation with the Warden. It was deliciously awkward on both sides, for very good reason. The history between them, the things that were said, things that had been said before, things they didn't say... Excellent. I like how neither of them really new what they wanted or expected from the interaction. I appreciate the fact that the Warden was open to further communications, bit also wanted to set see hard boundaries. It's understandable. I also like the dynamic if Megamind lying about being unarmed and without brainbots, but making a genuine effort to appear as nonthreatening and "unofficial" as possible. The detail about the newness of the jeans was great.

I really liked how the date went. Hal was... incredibly obnoxious and nosy there, and I thought it was really good characterization. It's creepy to ask that many questions, and it's rude to ask someone to accommodate you when you're giving an unsolicited and clearly unwanted favor, dude. Please stop.

I love how Megamind was acting in that bit, though! Having to do a weather-check on the meteor shower was disappointing, especially since they missed out on the snuggles, but Oklahoma! sounds like fun, and they did get to eat the snacks. I think it's good that Minion is being included in the activities; it's good for couples to get along with each other's friends, and it's important not to neglect other relationships for the sake of a new romance.

The discussion of the Pink Pussy Cat Club was excellent. I liked their different stances on the issue, and I especially liked the fact that Roxanne was kind of okay with it, but felt like she shouldn't be. The manager being extremely reluctant to talk to her was absolutely excellent. I also really like the fact that it prompted Roxanne, and the readers, to think about what Megamind does when he isn't in the lab, fighting Metro Man, or in jail. It's truly excellent food for thought.

Roxanne getting sick! I feel extremely sympathetic; that bug sounds absolutely miserable! You wrote the illness extremely well. I liked the bit where Megamind offered to pick up her dry-cleaning, come over and make a fuss, talk, or whatever. I also like the fact that he respected her boundaries and promised that make-up dates wouldn't be piling up while she was sick. It was really sweet. I especially liked how she initially just wanted to rest, but later felt well enough to take him up on his offer and let him talk her ear off on the phone for a while. That was really sweet. (Also, it said his voice was getting a little hoarse. Did he monologue for too long, or is he getting sick as well?)

Megamind's behavior, offering help, accepting and respecting boundaries, and being understanding about the fact that she's sick and may not want to entertain, provides an excellent contrast to Hal. Hal showing up like that was just creepy. And rude. She didn't call him. She didn't ask for him to come over. He didn't even call ahead! He just shows up at her door! With soup! Expecting gratitude and an invitation inside and for her to be up for some social interaction while she's under the weather. Not! Cool!

This is truly, truly excellent. I really like this story, and I was super-excited when I first saw the update and read the chapter. I love your writing. The bit at the end made for an excellent cliff-hanger. Thank You so much for writing this! :D
