Self-tortured, lonely, broody Cedric is one of my favorite images and you certainly didn't disappoint. Pacing so much to wear holes in the carpets, the growth of beard - great images.
You've got a sort of Deus Ex Goodwin thing going on and I don't mind it at all because it makes sense and the information is such a relief, though it doesn't *actually* solve any issues. And it's so great to see a portrayal of Goodwin where he isn't basically the worst. And I love the angle you work with Sofia not being a real princess and that mattering in marriage matching (whereas the show often treats her as just as equal as every other princess. Can't say that seems exactly accurate...)
"Two. Two Heats." I answered mechanically, still in shock - I can see him, hear him so perfectly in that moment.
And thank you for showing Sofia hurting, too, but also having her stand up for herself. Her argument against him was perfect.
The tapestry you've constructed for the Guardians is fantastic and well explained. And now Hildegarde's comment from earlier makes some more sense. I'm so glad that they're going into whatever's next together - at least that's solved - but I am pumped for whatever this showdown is going to entail.

Wow! Too many revelations! Cedric is a Duke! Sofia is a descendant of the royal family of Freezenburg! And I think this delegation would mess the already compicated things more. Miranda was suspecting about Sofia 's condition and it is good she is in favor of a maggiage to Cedric. Is Roland aware of any of these things? It would fall like a bomb the news.
