Intriguing solution to the "Kes-in-Fury" problem. I wasn't real fond of Q2, so this whole scenario makes a lot of sense to me! Thanks for posting.

Well, I officially ship Kes/Q2 now, lol. They can have each other. Certainly Q2 using her as an affair while they were both energy beings fit his character, and it certainly makes sense that he would push her aging mind into vengeful insanity... If you can't kill the guy, kill the crew that led you to meeting said guy...

I liked the mention of the immaculate conception angle you mentioned in 'The Twenty Sixth Year' too, though Kes is now too reasonable for that, she's already saved her people. I'm glad you tackled the Ocampan's fate, obviously Janeway's actions only put off their destruction for a few months, but by helping Kes evolve she helped them by extension.

this was really quite good and very bitter sweet

as you well know I never cared fro kes or for the Q for that matter but this was a touching exit for Kes and just very true to the heart of the cheaters. I also like the little nod to seven. a part of me always wounded if she knew what was going on with Kes during the gift and scorpion if she knew what was going to happen to her. but that's just me.

a very nice story and I hope you don't quite fan fiction all to gather because that would be sad.
