This touched my soul with its well written beauty.

This is so incredibly done. I've always been fascinated by Pearl and Greg's dynamic. They seem like divorced parents who are trying to stay civil for the sake of their child, and by the time the show they at least seem at peace with each other. But, oh, the more we learn from flashbacks about Pearl's intense (and more and more apparently romantic) feelings for Rose, the more fascinated I am by Pearl and Greg in the present. As two people who loved Rose more than anything, they COULD perhaps understand and comfort each other better than anyone else... and yet there's always that wedge of resentment and blame between them.

You captured this so well with the insertions into the dialogue. I loved the contrast you provided between what each character was saying and what they wished they could say- the fight was never about Steven's fall, really. People do that sooooo much in real life, and yeah, I just thought it hit hard. I loved how it is only with the final "Thank you" that Greg is saying what he really means. It's a nice resolution.

I also found that short moment in which Pearl blames Rose, and then pushes the thought away because it's too painful, really interesting. There is so much we don't know about their relationship yet and I can't wait to learn more about in canon. In the meantime, I hope you keep writing for these characters, you do it so well!
