Oh, that was beautiful! So much symbolism and confusion and beauty and loss. I loved how you left the ending slightly ambiguous as to what is behind the door, (even if part of me really wants to know the true answer!) One way that I feel it could be read is that d'Artagnan died, Aramis helping him to peace in letting him go, which I think adds *sniff sniff* a new level of tragic beauty to the whole thing. Stunning. *bawls eyes out for a thousand years*

This was nicely written with a lot of symbolism and just a touch of despair. I found I was feeling light headed when I read it like I was injured or confused. When d'Artagnan woke and described the battle it all made a kind of sense. Then the fact that Aramis and Constance were found barely alive it was almost as if God had given him a vision to save his friends. But it was all memories, shadowed by fever and an exhausted body. I found I liked the story and was disappointed to when it ended with out and ending at all. So was there nothing behind the door or was it one of those "whatever the reader wants to be there" kind of stories?

This was really an amazing piece. Your descriptions were so detailed, I could see and feel it so clearly. As much as I desperately want to know what was behind that door, I get it, I understand. The way you wrote it... I loved this, is what I'm saying. :)

A real dream. Not clear with gentle foggy curves. Beautiful. Porthos upset with delirious d' Artagnan so in character.

Oh my Goodness that was beyond amazing! Reading that was like watching a well done movie! I could pictures everything in my head! What a creative idea and thrilling too. But the ending?! Gahhh! I wanted to see what was actually in the room. You ended with just a bit of mystery! Thanks for such a lovely read! I'm going to be thinking about this one all day long!
