I know this is a pretty old story, but I'm just dropping by a few years late to put in my two cents XD

It was a good idea and executed really well. Yato and Yukine were perfectly in-character, both in their serious moments and their banter. I liked both Yukine's screw-up and his save, and the jabs at Bishamon were on point (of course Yato would still take jabs even on his deathbed, and it's an easy line of snark for Yukine to take right back at him later). It was all really great, from their irritation to their worry and care for each other to all the ways they try to cover up all the serious stuff. I actually really liked the ending too, and the last couple paragraphs.

Overall, great story and one of my favs since discovering Noragami :)

Oh so sweet! I have doubts of how anyone could think they were OOC. This seems exactly how things would happen! I love how you write the characters, and the little bantering they do (mainly Yato just whining -).
