"And now...kiss. Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" ... my thoughts when I first saw the original boat scene. :D I was disappointed, haha!

I know, I already told you, but ...I absolutely love this one! The boat scene is one of the most memorable scenes in the movie and I wish it would have turned out like your little oneshot. The Major's dilemma...it's rather classic, haha. She is indeed a mystery. I always thought the clones she saw of herself in front of the shopping window and in the cafe are not really dublications, but rather illusory incarnations of herself how she could've lived freely without being a member of Section 9 (and the government's property). But that's only my interpretation. :)
But yours is also gorgeous and it makes sense. I think Motokos thoughts about being some kind of masstige is totally normal in the world of Oshii's GitS. You pointed it out really well, and I'm pretty sure she would've gone mad without Batou at her side. 3

Thank you for writing this beautiful oneshot, I really enjoyed it since 1995 fics of GitS are so rare...now I want to give Motoko a hug, she deserves so much more love. ;w;
