Strong, confident, "I don't GAF" Lorelai is back and badder than ever! I LOLed at her kissing Luke, briefly stopping to notice Emily and Chris, and then going right back to kissing Luke. Haha., that was great!

Love the image of a united L/L standing eye to eye with Emily and Chris, the only two people who've ever tried to destroy their happiness, and giving a proverbial middle finger by showing just how strong they are. Showing that they're meant to be together and they don't care who might not approve of it... it's done. Not up for discussion. You don't like it, get outta here.

I loved that Chris was waiting, hoping for Emily to be the bad guy and put her "verbal skills" to work. And then... nothing. Ha. And totally laughed at the "he sounded like a douche even to his own ears." line. So great. More stories need to have characters being aware of their doucheyness.

So great! Short and sweet, and accomplishes just what it intends to! "Never to return" - perfect!

I always felt that Lorelai "cow-towed" to Emily and Chris too much. I've been working on my own version of GG's where she doesn't bend so easily, and Luke isn't so wishy washy.
I love that you have them ignore Chris's interruption, and snub Emily too lol I love all the snark and wit that GG is known for. Thanks for putting Thing 1 and Thing 2 in their place!

Cute. I'm glad Lorelai set Emily straight. I never hated Chris I just felt they had their chance and when Lorelai got together with Luke that Chris should never have been made an option again. Thanks for a bit of closure.

Love this! I laughed at Christopher's descriptions of the 'sappy song about the moon and light' and Luke's 'vice-like grip' on Lorelai's neck and I cheered at the end. Great job.

Frankly, I'd prefer to have Chris eliminated in Partings-and have Emily tell off Luke about ignoring Lorelai and spending so much time with Anna and April, the same stunt he did to Rachel (spending his time with Lorelai) and Nicole (not really moving in)... So gee, guess what-It's LUKE with the commitment issue! He used Christopher (how do you reasonably forbid anyone to see their kid's parent? If Lorelai did that to him re: Anna, total meltdown right?). I mean, ow. And throwing it in Lorelai's face that she ran around with men-shades of Emily-but early in the show, it's clear Lorelai didn't date b/c of Rory, so who exactly was she "dating"?!

Basically I lost all liking for Luke in "Say Something". Emotional cowardice. Huge turn-off. And he kept using any reason to run if he's not all in charge. Ewwwww. And Lorelai let it happen? When did she let Luke becom eher new "Emily" and run her life?!

That said, anything is better than Christopher-the-slime-mold and Emily is just in need of more therapy than all of the American Psychological Association can provide.

Sorry, had to rant. Netflix binge. Bad for my GG karma. Seen in all one week, the series makes less and less sense, y'know? (He's secretly in love with Lorelai but hops right back in with Rachel? But L's a slut for trying to reunite with CHris? And Rory starts off anti-LL, but it's always all Lorelai's fault? Huh? Who wrote this show? Two words on behalf of the English prof: "narrative continuity".)

It was cute. I know I'm in the minority here, but I was a Chris fan-especially after the whole April debacle. However, I can still appreciate a good story that's anti-chris. My favorite part was when he thought he sounded douchy. It's always nice to know when you yourself is being douchy, it shows a certain level of self awareness.

What a great story - Christopher the slime slinks away . . . never to return. Almost too good to be true. And Emily . . . well, the cat must have her tongue! Do you suppose she has FINALLY learned her lesson? (or, will she rise again another day?) I am in continued awe of your writing and story ideas, and, I was happily shocked to see my name mentioned and, as you know, I am especially fond of the term "Christopher the slime" because I believe it fits him to a T. Emily the elder is also very accurate, and I have been referring to her lately as nasty Emily. Wonder if that will stick. Thanks much for a great story. "He sounded like a douche to his own ears." Hee, you have such a way with words! Love it! Love it all. Can I just say - again - how much I hate it that I can't copy and paste my favorite sentences? But maybe that's for the best. Prevents me from merely copying your whole story as my review and calling it a day.

Ooh, sorry - was that too passive-aggressively snarky? *snort*

And this line - "Finally, Emily cleared HER throat, and probably through some Pavlovian response, Lorelai jerked her head up and looked in their direction." Ha! Pure gold!

I love the little things you just tuck in, such as the 'some sappy song about the moon and light' which played next, while Luke & Lorelai continued to kiss. The way Chris knows what he has to say to Emily, what she expects him to say. He knows how to play his role. But at least he and Emily know that Stars Hollow is always going to be Lorelai's home.

It amazes me how much emotional resonance you can fit into your concise stories. I don't know how you can show so much, fix so much, and do it all with a nice dollop of humor on the top, too. It's like the ultimate story!
