Reviews for Diagnostics
Ellis Jenkins chapter 1 . 12/8/2016
The words you emphasize in this are amazing! I've always loved "This is just a kiss... is it not? Is it... not?" 3

I adore how you write his thoughts and how his mind works. Excellent. I'm slowly catching up to this universe of yours lol :D

Wow. I never thought I would read a fanfiction that captured Data so perfectly. This is such an impressive take on Data's thought process, how much it differs from a human's, and how difficult it makes relationships for him. Really wonderful work.

I can't believe I hadn't read this yet... Tasha... Jenna... Just perfect.
Red chapter 1 . 4/8/2015
Watched 'The Ensigns of Command'; possibly one of my favorite episodes. :)
saya4haji chapter 1 . 3/31/2015
I am only getting the chance to read this piece now due to work commitments. I am so glad I waited until I was free to sit down and read it in one go, to really savour it and think about it.

Data's thoughts about the kiss and the way you wrote his inner narrative was fantastic. The sense of urgency, of his possatronic brain cataloguing and considering numerous things in a matter of seconds, in a way no human could. You did an excellent job of mapping his stream of consciousness, balancing the linear thought processes of a technological brain against the more organic thoughts born of the intangible consciousness.

I was so curious about what data thought of the kiss and how he perceives Zoe. This piece was an amazing insight into both. The emotion of curiosity and even unformed and subconscious desire are present in his thinking, putting paid once and for all the idea data has no emotions. As Zoe has said he has preferences which are the genesis of feelings.

The way data analyses his relationship with Zoe, how he reacts to her and does what he thinks is appropriate based on logic in their interactions and specifically in how he chooses to react to her crying as she leaves is the epitome of him using logic to deal with a situation, however his reaction to the kiss, the sudden stalling of thoughts and his reacting in ways that are so without logic but are more human instinct was beautiful and a wonderful compliment to the subtle implications of his emotions and preferences. In that one moment where their lips meet, he tastes her and then draws them together without thought, this shows his actions and himself becoming human. He is curious, slow and although he acts at first based on logic to the idea of Zoe about to kiss him, he then reacts to the reality and the stimuli on human instinct.

I don't think I am explaining very well what I saw when I read this piece, or the things I think it implies. It was to me just so well written. I hope you understand my rambling. The format,, style and balance of content which you used for this chapter were all just brilliant.

Thank you for your hard work, for a wonderful addition to this universe and for the insight into data's mind. It is wonderful to see the relationships growth at such a key moment from his perspective. The change in how he perceives Zoe from our last installment in his point of view and the subtle growth of himself were all evident.

Thank you again and bravo on such a well written piece.
Lacrimula Falsa chapter 1 . 3/30/2015
First I thought: 'Oh, the ending broke my heart. -"She cannot be frightened of him, can she?"- Oh darling, it's not you.'

Hah, and then you did /this/: "He will give her one hour before going to find her - before bringing her home." And suddendly this was one of the most romantic things I've ever read. :) Just lovely.

YES. End of comment.
Just kidding, there's more. Not a lot more, though, because I'm speechless. I love you for this, and the reason for this heartfelt declaration is that I desperately needed a well-written rendition of Data's thought processes, and that's exactly what this is. I love Data, he's my favourite character from TNG, but I haven't written anything about him yet because, very simply put, every attempt drives me nuts. I bow to your skill.
Just a (partially unrelated) thought: good luck writing Season Five into the main story. I have a feeling it will be a tough one for you and an awesome one for us.
Javanyet chapter 1 . 3/27/2015
Ahem. To get technical... POV shift, character development exposition, transition. No faults fund. To get Shakespearean... huzzah.
Name goes here chapter 1 . 3/26/2015
Squeeeee! Love it! Seeing both sides of the relationship is a delight.
Phangirl28 chapter 1 . 3/26/2015
When I woke up this morning I wasn't expecting this. I had to wait till I got home from school to leave a review but I forgot I had to stay after for a choir thing and then I had voice lessons. I'm just now getting around to leaving a review but oh my god! I loved it! It was perfection itself and Data was so wonderful and everything was so... Perfect! Uoh I just died of happiness and excitement, it's beautiful. I honestly didn't think you'd put it out so soon but I'm very grateful. Thank you!
Love, Berkley
P.S. I promise I'm not a stalker or anything I'm just a hyper fan-girl! Also I have no life.
Red chapter 1 . 3/26/2015
YAY! This. Was. AWESOME! This is quite a lot different than I thought it would be... 'in the nicest way possible'. :) Made my heart melt. I've been looking forward to this! Keep up the good work! ;)
PauletteZ chapter 1 . 3/26/2015
I absolutely loved this! It is probably my favorite thing that you've written in the Data / Zoe stories, and I've read everything about them at least twice. I love the way you write Data. It seems very true to the character. This story is definitely Zoe's, so it's right that it is mainly told from her point of view, but having the occasional scene told from Data's perspective as well just adds a so much depth and emotion. It stops being about her crush and becomes a real and meaningful relationship. I can't get enough!
January in June chapter 1 . 3/26/2015
So I wake up, check my phone, and hey, new story! I read the summary and I just couldn't wait. Sat here with my coffee, reading it and falling in love with my favorite android all over again. The repeated diagnostics were heartbreaking, in a good way. Thank you for posting this, I absolutely loved seeing The Kiss from Data's perspective. I can't get enough of your writing, whether it's your longer fics or these delicious one-shots. LLAP! And keep writing please.
