Good Soldier John. Sounds like it should be classic reading in High School.
It's fantastic how you show how John came to be who he is when he meets Sherlock. This story makes sense, it feels real. I like the tone of your writing in this, I don't know what it was, but it felt very honest, slowly drawing you in to feel compassion and understanding.
Your writing is incredible. I hope you'll write some more!

With your talent of writing, I was so happy to see that you had written an army!John fic. I now ship John and Daniel (no matter the outcome of the story).
When John was first handed his gun near the beginning of the story, I immediately thought of the quote used so often in your stories, including this one: "His Sig Sauer handgun sits at the bottom of his desk drawer like a secret. He contemplates it daily." I not only love this quote, but also think it holds so much meaning in this story because the reader is given a deeper understanding of John's life.
I also liked how you varied the dialogue from the show. It makes the story more fresh and original.

Oh my gosh! That ending! You did the full circle of "A Good Man..." perfectly! I had forgotten about that opening until reading the end. It was beautifully planned and so beautifully written.
That very last line of "Sherlock Holmes tattooed across his heart," brings the whole story together as a perfect ending. It is the perfect way to show that Sherlock is the one thing John lives for.

Aww! I'm glad it worked out for Johnny in the end. I really am. I love the emotions flowing through this piece. It's really a beautiful thing. I really don't know how I survived the death of Daniel. I was getting quite attached to him. This was great!

Wow. That was a rollercoster of emotions. Other fanfics have portrayed John as an optimist,happy even after the war; and this was like a whiff of fresh air. I really enjoyed reading a new side of John Watson. Verry well written, even though it's only a page it feels like chapters.

Woww! This story is really good! Even after reading plethora of fanfictions of same genre,it still feels refreshing. The format is good. Some moments are really touching. My heart dropped at Daniel Peterson's death. All the angst of wartime and John's psycology was well written. Loved the 'Arm straight,slow exhale,narrowed eyes and there it is,seamless fire ','kiss me sherlock says and john does','nothing,i love it' lines. The 'Good man' ending was story never feels too much or too less,its perfect!

Every Sunday i eagerly wait for Love Ballads update,and these stories occasioanally,just make my day. Thank you for such memorable fics. :)

I really like how you made the parallel between john joining the military and john spending his the rest of his life with Sherlock.

This was beautifully written, I like how you make your own storyline mix with the series. I liked this and how we get to see everything from John's eyes. I hope you write more, it would be fun to read something similiar from Sherlock's point of view. Thank you for this story, hopefully see you more stories
