Reviews for The Light
BerbDCat chapter 76 . 8/5
I'm back to finally finish reading this colossal (in the best way! :D) story, and I'll be leaving a some reviews as I experience the rest of it. This chapter was full of awesome feelings, and is possibly one of my favourites so far, simply because Avery is such an intriguing character and is not one that I've encountered often in books (stoic and broody but good, seems to be expressed more easily in visual media). My only criticism for this chapter (use it how you wish or ignore itis the flashback progression of their relationship. After binge-reading the whole story up to this chapter, the scenes were still fresh in my mind and I ended up skimming them a bit because I didn't want to reread the text. Of course, it works in the fanfiction gradual chapter upload structure, because for readers those scenes wouldn't be fresh. My suggestion would be to, in the future or in your book (which I hope is going well!), rewrite or rephrase the longer flashbacks slightly, or write them from a different perspective, so that they don't feel recycled. That's just my opinion, do with it what you like. You're the author

I don’t understand why Kreecher couldn’t go get him. Elf magic should have made it possible.
Snowfel chapter 13 . 6/30
This is my very first time reviewing a story before I finished reading it to the last updated chapter, but I can’t help it; I need to say this lest my mind won’t calm down. You were twelve when you wrote this. You were twelve. You. Were. Twelve.

Damn, you’re a genius! Really, really genius. When I read your bio about you still being 12 when you wrote this, I expected a super light reading experience. Instead, I’ve got a very enjoyable, and quite philosophical reading experience. Not something I expect from a 12 years old; not at all! True, there are some points where some plots are hole-y; very very minor, such as Hermione attending a 7th year class without OWL qualifications, and lack of environmentalcosmetic explanations. But what can I say; it’s nothing major. When I was twelve I was much, much worse at writing! If there’s anything lacking, your depth of character makes up for more than every flaw (on which I can’t find a lot of flaw). The character development; the depth of Sirius’ emotions and Remus’ fears; are you sure that you are psychologically twelve when you wrote this? I’ll wager that you are much more mature and observant than most people!

At this early age you have shown an amazing gift for conveying beauty through your writings. I can’t wait to read more of your work, and please bear with me; I will surely post a more detailed review when I finished this story.

Most importantly, I wish you health for you and your loved ones; wherever you are, I wish you safety, for these are tumultuous times we are living in currently.

Best regards,
Snowfel

Oh snap...
Quinnmarie chapter 10 . 6/23
Okay. I’m really glad I found this after it was completed because I’m rushing to find out what Sirius’ greatest fear is.
Quinnmarie chapter 9 . 6/23
Oh! That prank was brilliant! I also loved your explanation of how the food gets to the house tables! Great chapter!
Quinnmarie chapter 7 . 6/23
I just now remembered to review a chapter! I’m sorry. Your story is pulling me in! I love how Hermione is so torn. I love how Sirius covers his broken pieces in front of others but is there for her because he recognizes her pain. I can’t wait to see where this goes!
Sarah Artemisia chapter 1 . 6/21
I read in your profile (before I started the story) that you began it when you were thirteen... I would have never known. It is written brilliantly. There are so many “time” fics featuring Hermione, and while they are each unique, they all tend to blend in with one another. But not yours. Yours is truly unique. I can’t believe I’ve never read your story before, and I regret not reading it sooner.

Runre Tobor chapter 1 . 5/19
It is very good. The Gryfindor Dare Game is a very nice touch. Details make or break a story. Rowling did not keep track of her details thereby giving birth to plot holes.

Lots of plot holes.

Nicolas Flamel, a great wizard, mentor to Dumbledore, mentioned in book one.
He and his wife could have helped Harry but Rowling forgot.

The diary in book two should have had everyone hunting Horcruxes starting that summer.
The Basilisk venom and the phoenix tears should have purged Harry's scar.
Rowling didn't think ahead.

And MORE...

Well plotted, tightly written stories don't have much fanfiction.
There are no inconsistencies, no unanswered questions.
You cannot improve on perfection, fanfiction often is an attempt to do better.
The Goode Ravenclaw chapter 101 . 5/21
I love this story so much! I think I started to read it and stopped at like chapter 30 something just because I thought it was too long. I read it all the way and I love it so much! I love Hermione and Avery's relationship with a passion!
Also, the fact that you started writing this story when you were 12/13 amazes me so much! you have a true talent for writing, I barely could write 1,000 word chapters and my write suck so badly when I was around that age. You are such an amazing writer and it's incredible!
