This was great! I think this is the first fic that I've read on this site in a long while that actually FEELS like "CHiPs". I like your style of writing, it's straightforward, but you paint a good picture. It's funny, but a lot of the events in your story have always been head cannon for me. I'd always imagined that Jon came back at some point and became a Sergeant after Ponch had left. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's had these thoughts! It's nice to see some actual action and police work in a "CHiPs" fic for once instead of the same old personal drama or fluff. Well done. I'm looking forward to checking out your next fic in the series.
