What a lovely conclusion to this story. There was so much to love about this chapter. Anna is clearly running this relationship, John is practically willing to bend over backwards (in more ways than one lol) to make her happy. His main concern is always her reputation in the beginning of their relationship in any story. It always makes me smile when he finally realizes her main concern is him. It was adorable when he eavesdropped on Anna and Mary's conversation to see if Anna felt the same way about him. I Iove the relationship between John and his mother and the way she teased him about his relationship with Anna. Tricking him to admit he slept over with Anna was hilarious. The push up scene was to die for. And the outfit John had to wear for their last dance was an entertaining thought. Knowing how critical John could be on himself, I was cringing for him. Thankfully he has Anna to stroke his ego and boost his confidence in himself. You did a wonderful job describing the dance scenes and a selfish part of me wishes I could see that last chapter, but I understand that they can't all see the light of day. Thanks for writing this.

Okay, I loved every single bit of this. I'm sorry I didn't review chapter by chapter as I normally do, but I was too interested in just moving on the the next chapter. My goodness, a lengthy chapter is just the thing I need...any day. I'd love to see those glimpses of life ever-after :)

i am so glad that you finished this! i read the first two chapters a while ago, wondering if we ever get closure. now we did, and it was really lovely! i had thoughts that this was going to be a long fic (don't know where i got that idea), but i'm not the least bit disappointed you ended it now. i also kinda expected anna and john to win but hey, everything turned out very well for them even though they didn't win and that's what matters! i enjoyed this type of writing, it focused on the present time, on the moment. there wasn't too much lingering in the past and its events (but when there was, it was written well) which made it much more realistic, if you get my meaning.

i loved the dancing parts & all the dances fit them well, no wonder they did (mostly) superbly! it was so great that their relationship existed also beyond dancing and that in the end they were facing their feelings (especially john), not afraid to tell what they really wanted. and while seeing anna's & john's daughter doting over their dancing would be something i'd love to read, the way you ended this is more than great. thank you for this wonderful fic, it was such a delight to read!

Hooray for an update to this fic! John is so full of doubt that something so good can happen to him. He is going to mess this up if Anna lets him. Anna knows just how to calm John. Ahhh! Not Mary!. This is going to get crazy really fast. I suggest that you do not listen into this conversation John. *holds my breath* Hooray! I should never doubt Anna and her ability to understand exactly what is going through John’s mind. I love how much Anna’s approval has bolstered his confidence and given John something huge to work for. I hope his knee is strong enough to compete. John’s mum’s reaction is going to be interesting. John’s mum is awesome! I love the way she dissects him. You write her so very well. Stuff like that sells papers John, no truth required to do that. Good on Mary for convincing Richard not to throw John and Anna off the show. The incident may get him even more ratings. So Thomas is hurting for cash. Nice use of canon dialog there, with a little twist. I doubt he will react to your threats though John. Don’t underestimate him. Anna handled Dr Clarkson perfectly. She really is a master. John is going to do everything he can to compete. Anna may have other ideas. The press up scene is super hot and very sweet too. Yeah! Banna are going to be able to compete! Wow, the finals sound so difficult. How is John’s knee going to hold up during all this stress? Nice Charles Grigg shout out! Sounds like Anna have their work cut out for them following that perfect dance of Jimmy and Rose’s. You did a wonderful job describing the rumba. It is so sensuous. Too funny about Martha having the hots for John ;) John would only be happy with a perfect score. Leave it to Anna to be able to bolster John’s confidence again. What a tough dance for the judges to choose for Banna to perform. The tension you are building is driving me crazy! Good on you! A salsa is much more shot than a waltz, but done with the proper partners, there is not a more romantic dance in the world. Only a waistcoat? Be still my beating heart! Anna’s reaction is golden! Robert is going to be oh so very jealous John ;) He’ll want to know where Daisy got it. Anna is a genius, pure and simple. Well here goes… John can certainly do morose and longing. Don’t think about the crowd John just feel the music and Anna’s presence! More canon perfection! Great score! I like how John looked for his mum and Robert in the audience. They are his biggest supporters, after Anna that is ;) Anna is so sweet, even in defeat. Oh my goodness Robert’s comments to John at the after-party were hilarious! Robert has that outfit in his wardrobe right now and we all know it ;) Hahaha diverting Robert’s attention like that, too funny! Ahhh John’s mum is so proud. Listen to her John, time for you to spend some time with Anna. John found his backbone and is going to talk to Anna? Anna knows what she wants and how to get it ;) Yeah! What a perfect ending for a wonderful story! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us!

So excited to see another instalment for this fic, and the longer the better! There's so much detail and brilliant background to the story - for John and for Anna - that it's just an absolute pleasure to soak every bit of it up. I love John's mum and Robert rallying around - especially Robert with his cheeky remarks - but I've a feeling John has only turned up at the party for Anna's sake. He's still so doubting that he could actually win the whole thing, yet he's got her admiration and constant belief - it's just their partnership all over. "I wish you'd start to see what I do when I look at you" - sigh, says it all. Love the idea of Tom as Anna's professional partner too.

God, Thomas really is such a knob. He just can't let it go. And being so vile about Anna. He got everything that was coming to him. It's just so horrible that the press will likely put John in a bad light. I felt so much for him - he's tried so hard throughout to not lose control and to have got so close is a killer. But at the same time I'm thrilled that he stood up for Anna's honour. He is very silly though, thinking that she'd just abandon him to his brooding. I love Anna's humour - showing that she'd forgiven him, or rather that there was nothing to forgive for - and the description of her as a 'mother bear'. Also love him and the ideas he had about where she lived, only for her to pull him in the opposite direction.

I love Robert's texts, and he's not as half as oblivious as he lets on ;) I have such a kink for Anna taking care of and patching up John, and this was no exception. In fact with all of the tension between them, as well as the tenderness, it was so much hotter. My heart breaks for John seeing himself as nothing better than the sympathy vote in the public's eyes (I want to tell him that that's rarely the case when it comes to the final), but Anna knows better. And when they kissed, I think my heart stopped for a moment. Honestly, so beautiful. Her continued affirmations made it all the better and absolutely gorgeous.

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting them to go through with it before the big final day, but it was perfect. Even though their feelings run so much deeper, I think John needed the confidence of knowing that Anna truly wanted him in that moment. They're just so made for one another - damn right John, you could never do that with anyone else again! And Mama Bates knows what's what too, I love it. I'm so glad John felt comfortable enough to begin to purge his demons by revealing the details of his past to Anna, and her own revelation was a surprise but goes to show that nobody is infallible. It was a great touch, and the image of them curling up together is one I will never ever get tired of.

A fantastic chapter, and I'm excited for the big result - as well as what else is to come for them!

I was so happy to see that you updated this story. I really enjoyed the first installment and have been hoping that you would return to it. I love every word and I am getting a kick out of visualizing John and Anna out on the dance floor. Awesome job!

Great story :) I saw it had a large word count even though it's only two chapters and I was going to break it up to read over the next few days but I liked it so much I had to read it straight through!

I love your description of John's mum so much! *Tries to imagine Violet giving Robert a hug* HAHA! Poor John dreaming about Anna being his. Love the fact that John's mum sat Anna down and showed her some footage of John's glory days. And they wore those little tights short shorts back in the 80's, where there was nowhere for those thighs to hide! *pants like a dog* They dumped my favorite J2O, Orange Cranberry :( If John would just believe in himself the same way Anna and his mum do. Thomas os going to get a face full of Anna wrath if he doesn't watch out. Uh oh, John has really let Thomas get the better of him this time. Thomas had nothing to lose by baiting John, while he is still in the competition. Now John will drown in a pit of despair and remorse. Anna is gorgeous and she is smart too. It is a great idea to mother him and bring him to hers while the papp are in a feeding frenzy. Love the way you write BFF between Robert and John. There is no way Robert is fooled by John's detail that he knows where Anna is. Anna is so tender with John, it is no wonder he has fallen for her. She is certainly in his cheering section too. Why can't John believe that someone like Anna could actually fancy him? She just said it to his face! Come on John, believe! A mother always knows, doesn't she? No way he can hide anything from Mrs Bates. That was quite a monumental post coital conversation Banna just had. Anna is just showing how special she is by everything she has told John. He is a fool if he doesn't hold on to her forever! Wow that took a lot for Anna to tell John about what almost happened between her and Tom. You better hold her John! I legitimately squealed when I saw this and my goodness it did not disappoint. This is in the running for one of my favourite chapters ever. I can't even specify my favourite bits because I loved every. Single. Word.
