While I loved how you set the scene with Emma storming into Killian's room all rain-drenched and desperate for him, I am even more enamored of how Killian stops them and simply has to make sure Emma is okay. You've captured here why he is so good for someone as injured and guarded as Emma - he doesn't want either of them to risk this chance they finally have to be truly loved at last. He understands hurt and wanting to lose yourself and forget, but he won't let Emma do that if he can help make things right for her.

Love how when you have Killian tell her he loves her, instead of it scaring her away, it brings her closer and helps her deal. She needed to hear his deepest truth, and it seems it was a relief to him to finally let her know.

I like the bit you put in about Killian not being used to people depending on him, but how he would do ANYTHING for Emma. I love how Killian curls his body around hers to protect and comfort as they finally go to bed. And it really thrilled me that Emma told him (though she never thought she would) that she loved him too.

Wonderful. It describes her disappointment in her parents and her reaction and overcoming that reaction with Hook. I love him telling her "This is hurting both of us", it simply says her hurt is his hurt. And they haven't been together and both agree that this is not the time, when she is hurting. Amazing, wonderful, thanks for writing.

I really enjoyed this because you didn't put a spin on what the secret really is. You just touched at it. And you made Emma admit that she was tempted by the darkness. Well written!

I loved this - the entire concept and execution of showing how he could be there for her in the aftermath of all of this. It's a very unique moment for the big declaration of "I love you" and that was a wonderful read. Fantastic as usual.

Oh my goodness, the intimacy the way this starts out! I am terrified for her! The way you describe her being drenched, her red tear-stained eyes and icy lips paints kind of a scary picture! Oh, and she listens to his heartbeat to anchor herself? Are you real? Are you straight-up evil? Because you are mastering angst even when they're together! You Angst Wizard!

Now that I am a little more coherent, I like the little tangent about them deciding to hold off on "coffee time" until she has a place of her own. I am so excited about getting even just a hint at when they begin that (I'm with you that I don't think they have yet, but I think an "I love you" is the key here).

Oh wow. Wow. Do you know what you've done? I've wondered and wondered what the show will do that will lead them to their love declarations and I've decided just now I want it to be something like this, where he still thinks it's this huge secret, and in a way, it is. But I think she knows. I think they both know the other one loves them, but to hear it will make it real for them, you know?

"I think I have loved you since before I knew my blackened heart was capable of love again."-Guh. This is so raw and so real. What's beautiful, and what you always do such a good job on, is that this is sexy, but because it's so honest and heartfelt. The closeness, the trust, the passion-it's all in the actions and expressions you give them. Also, bonus points for not going overboard on dialogue here. I think this is the exact amount that would be in this quiet-but-momentous time for them.
