I enjoyed reading about Sabine. I loved her and Kanan's interactions. I really liked that episode where they both went on a mission together. So this was a sweet way to sum up their relationship. :)

I'm with you on the messy hair and PTSD...sadly we did not get this. :( . and your grimmer fates seem to be premonitions. Going to continue with your story though...

Very nice scene you describe here. Hurt/comfort for Kanan. Glad to see Hera being the strong support she is. And I especially liked you mentioning Kanan and Hera as individuals, but also changing back into their roles of leader and pilot. I guess that's where fanfiction fills in the gaps :)

I forgot to review on this chapter, but I find the bond really beautiful. You don't need blood or the Force to have a bond; and even if it's subtle and as small as understanding, it can go a long way. Kanan needs someone that genuinely understands what he's going through. Ezra is too young, and makes his scars more fresh. The fact that Ezra can't learn in the Temple, that his childhood was ripped from him, that he almost died, would only make it worse. Hera's romantic bond would have put some pressure on him. (There is no passion. He's literally going against the code he's trying to teach.) Sabine is too young and less jaded that the rest of them, so Zeb fits in easily.

This was even better! Your writing keeps getting better and better. The style and the meaning is just so beautifully woven in.
