this is so fucking good oh my god i don't even know what to say. honestly just. holy shit. im in love with this story.

I don't know what I think. It made me feel so much pain and it was wonderful! But yet I can't decide if I like the ending O.o it ended as i expected, but still...
anyway! Lovely written and great concept. :)

Very bittersweet. Everyone always thought Yami was the strong one but in the end it was really Yuugi.

I'm falling in love with your stories and with your style. I can't get tired of reading about these two and the way you portray their relationship is always... gosh where do I even start?
The entire oneshot is so painfully attached to the canon, I loved every bit of it, from the way you broke your paragraphs and slowed down the train of Yugi's thoughts to the fact that you decided to tell this from Yugi's pov, which was great because we could read about how he grew up during the years, how his emotions and behavior matured and how he is essentially broken the whole time, hiding behind a glass that is constantly about to shatter, like it does when he spots Yami and Kaiba kissing.
You made justice to every character I believe, you managed to brush their personality and the changes it had gone through just with a few sentences per character and I appreciated you mentioning even Rebecca and the fact that Sugoroku actually told Yugi's mother about the millennium items.
The theme of the story kept resurfacing and it was amazing how every time Yugi (and then Yami) could come up with a different answer to the question 'when did you fall in love with him' only to realize that maybe he had just been the whole time, that some things do not have a beginning just like they do not have a definition: how can you pin point the actual moment you fell in love? is it really so important? isn't the fact that you ARE in love what really counts?
And then we have Yami and I loved the word you used for him: spinning. Yami IS spinning, I've always believed he is terrifically unstable, not able to understand what's good or bad for him, not able to understand what he wants, when it is right to stop and when you should instead go on... and Yugi is the only person who knows about it, the only one that knows that Yami is essentially scared and fragile, just like he is, and so they need each other, because nobody else could ever understand the other better, and that's why Yami's relationships ended without an apparent reason: they should never have started in the first place but Yami wanted to experiment, to not think about the problem... the way you characterized these two is perfect, painfully perfect.
I loved the dialogues and the last part of the story, I loved how they needed so little words but how they were so well chosen and they knew the exact weight of each one of them.
Forgive me because I fear I could go on and on rambling about your story and about puzzleshipping, but I truly loved this oneshot, apparently simple and yet so complex and beautiful to read because of all the feelings and the entwining of relationships and lies. Keep up your great job my dear, this story is a jewel!

This was much too sad for me, and yet, I found the ending oddly satisfying
