She doesn't see him as she continues singing whatever it is he walked in on. "We'll meet again. Don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day. Keep smiling through, just like you always do 'til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away." Frowning at the truth in her words, hearing the sadness in her voice that mirrors his own, he steps into the room and quietly closes the door and she stops playing to let just her voice carry over the stars. "So will you please say 'hello' to the folks that I know, tell them it won't be long. They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go I singin' this song."

Heart breaking, he sets the food down and goes to sit with her on the seat before the window and she turns to him, smiling sadly. He doesn't know how long she's known he has been in the room, but he doesn't need to, the look on her face says it all. Whether the song was for him or her, the point is the same.

Earth has called their shining light home, a light they will most surely dim or snuff out completely if he cannot protect her from light-years away. He cannot stop her, not completely, and he knows he hasn't given her much time for success, but, come tomorrow, he won't much care about humanity when he rolls over and finds her side of the bed empty. - I'm not crying. YOU'RE crying.

I love that momma Vakarian was so accepting, and I'm also glad that you didn't make papa Vakarian accepting. It doesn't fit his canon M.O. but so many people do it anyway. I am, however, a little sad that Sol didn't have a bigger part in this.

"So I have a Reaper uterus, is what you're saying." - *gigglesnort* That probably shouldn't be funny, but it is.

The really sad thing about this, she's just been told she's going to prison and is about to be a mother in the same few minute window. The even sadder thing about this—Garrus only knows the second part.

Hmmmm. I don't think she would've hid the fact from the admiral if not for thinking that she can save Garrus having to pay the cost, too. I love having him there for this 'solo' mission. I've always hated the Project Rho mission, it's creepy as all hell, and BS that you have to go alone.

*SQUEEEEE* The twins lead her out of her nightmare hell and back to their father!

So, I'm not sure what happened in your life a few chapters back, but I have to say, it seems like there is a drastic and sudden shift in your writing over the last few chapters or so. Not just your grammar and sentence structure, but even just your command of description and your ability to really dig in and give emlife/em to the story. This is utterly fantastic. I can emfeel/em everything Garrus is feeling, and it's just ... consuming.

I love the changes you made with the reaper, and I loved seeing Garrus lead this. His raw fury and grief in this last scene with the reaper is just amazing. And oh, thank the gods she's okay.

Certainly he must be within the virtual reality that the VI / human hybrid threw him into because there's no way he could have lost her - again - to the Collectors on the Normandy. She was supposed to be safe here, on the more advanced Normandy with defenses and armaments he personally made sure could drop a Reaper and, yet… she is gone. - You hear that? Yeah? That's the sound of my heart breaking :'(

"What did you just say," he growls as he shoves past someone between him and Joker, not caring who it was, and wraps his hand around the man's neck, firm like a vise ready to snap even the strongest of bones in his grip. "You sacrificed my wife, again, for the fucking Normandy?! Again?!" - Oh nuuuuu!

I kinda wonder ... I think if I were Garrus, in that moment, I'd have a moment of paralyzing fear. What if Shepard was still on the collector ship?

Fantastic chapter. The tension is so high, I can feel it!

Thank God Garrus is making her do something about being sick!

Oh, come on, doc! You should damn well know the signs of pregnancy and damn well know to check for it even if the woman claims to not be having sex/have a sterile partner/have an alien partner because patients lie and people cheat! Though I have a feeling, based on the amount of blood and pee the doctor took, she does know damn well that Shepard is pregnant. I'm guessing that's what she really meant by "your condition".

Uh, Shepard was in the med bay, right next to the AI Core. She would've needed to start in the AI core to unshackle EDI ...

NOOOO! Bad time to pass out, Shepard! Gah!

I feel for Liara and Joker tbh, with Garrus' snarling attitude towards them. I mean, I get why he's upset with them, but at the same time, I feel for them. Great job with the chapter, I do so love seeing some of this stuff from Garrus' POV instead of everything always being from Shepard's.

"And why the hell not?" - Uhhhhh ... what did you think she was bringing it back to the Normandy for, Garrus? If she just intended to destroy it without at least questioning it first, she coulda/woulda just left it on the reaper.

Why doesn't he just go in with her?

Shrugging as she heads in, she speaks over her shoulder. "Oh, I don't know. My way roped your ugly ass in and got me your teeth in my neck." - XD I love this!

I think my heart just about broke when Garrus said he wanted to defy biology. Is she smelling extra good to him because she's already pregnant, or because of Morinth's influence, I wonder? Anyway, I'm already anxiously awaiting the big reveal. I can't wait to see their reactions to finding out he managed to knock her up. And, with as protective as Garrus already is, lol, he's going to be insane when he learns she's pregnant.

Oooohhhh, creepy dream scene. I am really in love with these nightmares of her, if that makes me a terrible person, then so be it. For some reason, you really shine the brightest when you're writing these scenes, you do such an incredibly good job with them!

And my poor, beautiful Garrus. You made his injuries sound completely horrid compared to the games :(

Oh shit! Is Samara seriously implying that she'll go after Garrus once the suicide mission is complete? Damn. I mean, I assume the mission will go fine, Morinth will die, and everything will be okay between the two of them. But I can just imagine so many ways having Samara intent on Garrus can create a very interesting story down the line.

A smile crosses her lips, something hidden in the curve of her lips that has Garrus' plates itch in anticipation. "Name's Morinth. You mind if I sit?" - HA! Ahahahaha! YESSSSSSSSS! OMG, I already love this so much.

"Is that what you did? Hunt me down?" He pushes the glass away so there is nothing between them as he growls low and deep, reverberating deep in his stomach. "I am no prey, to anyone. All are my game, this station my hunting grounds." - RAR BABY RAR!

Holy shit, Squid. I think that was the best take on the Morinth mission I've seen to date. I loved every word of it!

I didn't expect that, but good work, I guess.'" - OMG, I'm dying :D

I forgot to say in the last one that you do volus really well. I could totally hear that scene in a volus voice. You also have good grasp on Zaeed, I think. I hear his voice easily, too.
